Action/Stealth: Deus Ex: Human Revolution First Person Shooter: Team Fortress 2 Adventure: Arkham City or Jak & Daxter 2 Puzzle: Antichamber as definite first, Braid as definite second Fighting: Soul Calibur 2 probably, never played these all that much Racing: Crash Team Racing RPG: Diablo 2 + Lord of Destruction expansion Sport: Wii swordfighting, SSX3 Strategy: either Starcraft + Brood War expansion, or Stronghold: Crusader MMO: WoW of Warcraft (would play it if it didn't have a monthly sub fee) MOBA: Dota 2
Action/Stealth: Deus Ex - it aged a bit weird, but man not many other games can top the atmosphere and charm of the classic game. I also enjoyed Human Revolution a lot as well. FPS: Doom - First one I played I think, and to this day is still a blast to play. I can never turn down a good playthrough of Doom and Doom 2 when I get the craving. Adventure: Sly Cooper Trilogy - Pretty much my childhood. Was my first favorite game, and i have many fond memories with these games. I liked Sly 4 as well, but it wasn't able to beat 3 for me so i'm not including it. Puzzle: Proffessor Layton Series - i fucking suck at puzzles but i LOVE Layton Fighting: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Skullgirls - Skullgirls made me appreciate fighting games for the first time due to it's fantastic tutorial mode. I still suck at it, but I have an understanding of what i'm doing now. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is similar and I'm actually decent at it. It helps that it has all my favorite Persona 3 and Persona 4 characters in it. Racing: Mario Kart- Simple, and always fun to play. RPG: Persona 3- Persona 3 is my favorite game of all time. I started with Persona 4 and enjoyed it a lot, but when I finally got to go back and play Persona 3, I was blown even further away. It's dark, beautiful, and while I usually enjoy the gameplay of mainline Shin Megami Tensei more, P3 has a special place in my heart. My favorite soundtrack ever, some of my favorite characters ever, one of my favorite stories ever, and gameplay that's always fun for me. I love it so much Sports: Wii Sports or Tony Hawk Pro Skater - I don't really play sports games if I'm honest but Skateboarding games are fun and Wii Sports was good for playing with friends Strategy: Civilization V- I'm not very good at RTS's, but I'm decent at Civ. I love being able to plan out my actions and building up my own civilizations. Even if the games take forever, I love it. MMO: I'd say APB but that died a few months after I bought it, so I guess I'd have to say WoW since that's what i played most. I don't play many MMO's
Stealth: Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, an absolutely flawless game and one of the best games ever made. RPG: Fallout New Vegas, hundreds upon hundreds of hours on the 360 and PC and I still haven't completed every quest. I literally just reinstalled it again to do a mostly vanilla run. Just downloaded YUP to fix the bugs. Action: Dark Souls, completely trounces the Souls games that came out around it and makes Lords of the Fallen look like a hollow shell. I can't wait for Bloodborne to knock it out of this place. Racing: Forza Motorsport 2, mostly because my brother wouldn't let me play the career in 3 or 4 so I barely touched them. Tactics: XCOM: Enemy Within and Fire Emblem Awakening. Strategy: Civilization V Sidescroller: Oddworld Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus. I view these as being two halves of a whole, I can't imagine one without the other. They're the best sidescrollers ever, and the screen doesn't even scroll. FPS: Call of Duty 4, an absolutely fantastic game that has been sucked dry by the many sequels and imitators. Horror: Metro 2033/Metro Last Light. Not really horror games but I've never found horror games scary, the fear of the unknown doesn't affect me. The fear of the known does, especially when it has claws and fangs. Extreme sports: SSX3 Regular sports: There was an ice hockey game on the PS1 I really liked, but I can't remember the name of it. Walking simulator: The Stanley Parable
Stealth: Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, an absolutely flawless game and one of the best games ever made.
Chaos Theory was the peak of an incredible series. It was all downhill after that unfortunately.
Action/Stealth: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Adventure: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Racing: Mario Kart Wii RPG: Mount and Blade: Warband Sport: Madden Strategy: Total War, Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings II, Battle of Empires: 1914-1918, MMO: War Thunder
Action/Stealth: Metal Gear Rising First Person Shooter: every Counter-Strike game Adventure: Skyrim? the best thing about that game was the beautiful world, gameplay was meh at best (im probably going to retry playing the game with mods though) Fighting: Skullgirls and Tekken 5 Racing: Need For Speed Carbon and Mario Kart RPG: Dark Souls Sport: Wii Sports Strategy: haven't played a strategy game in a while but probably Red Alert MMO: never played an MMO and probably never will
Action/Stealth: Borderlands 2, which one-upped the first game on many ways, and is one of my favorite games of all time. Adventure: Skyrim. I think it was fun, albeit the combat was a bit meh and the graphics are shit. Fighting: Injustice: God's Among Us is good, although I'm terrible at it Racing: I guess Mario Kart is the one for me, although I've only played it like once or twice RPG: Pokemon Emerald, one of the best games I've ever played, and it defined my tastes for games Sport: Don't really like sports games Strategy: Halo Wars was the only strategy game I've ever played, and I quite enjoyed it. MMO: Planetside 2, it's like Halo, TF2, and Battlefield in a single game, and it's fucking amazing
Action/Stealth: Hotline Miami. Just a pleasure in every sense. Gameplay is intense. Graphics have an amazing unique style. And the music... damn. Adventure:Ratchet and Clank 3. The best in my favorite Sony series. The gameplay was perfected and the weapon selection was the best. Villain was awesome. Everything was awesome. Fighting: For more conventional fighting games I'd say Skullgirls, but I suck at that game horribly so I'm better at Smash 4. Racing: Burnout Revenge. This game still looks beautiful. It's really fast paced and as redundant as it is I still beat it 2 or 3 times and always had fun. RPG: Pokemon's always been my thing, and if I had to choose from that series it would most likely be Heart Gold/ Soul Silver, but Pokemon always feels like cheating when it comes to RPGs for some reason, so I'd have to say Earthbound/ Mother 3 for the smile they always bring to my face. Sport: If Tony Hawk's underground counts, then that. If not then Wii Sports. Strategy: Fire Emblem Awakening. Both the series and genre I've mess with little, but god damn is this a fine game. Only flaw I could possibly think about it is the fact no one has feet. MMO: TF2 I suppose. It sort of counts. I haven't really played standard MMOs like Runescape or WOW so this is my best choice. It has its flaws and ho boy does it have its flaws but there's a reason I sunk 3k hours into it. Platformer: Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Just a classic in every regard and what every platformer should strive to be.
Action/Stealth: 7 Days to Die Adventure: Banjo Kazooie Fighting: Smash 4 Racing: Diddy Kong Racing RPG: Suikoden II Sport: SSX Tricky Strategy: Total Annihilation: Spring MMO: Guild Wars 1
