i usually don't watch dramas often because they usually take a lot out of me
most of my favorite movies/tv shows (with a couple exceptions) are either comedies or relatively lighthearted
I don't really watch TV series, nor do I watch TV these days.

Oh right and I just remembered some great African films if we're looking at expanding tastes, Ousmane Sembène and Djibril Diop Mambéty films are absolute must watches. Black Girl and Moolaade are brutal watches by Ousmane Sembène while Touki Bouki and The Little Girl Who Stole the Sun are great by Djibril Diop Mambéty

Koyaanisqatsi is a fuckin great movie especially if you're too wasted to follow a plot

mad men is a very difficult show to sell people on but it's 100% my favorite non-comedy tv show of all time
in my top 5 shows of all time it's the only one that's not a comedy

Yeah African films are obscure but they're great films I promise. Senegal is basically the home of African film making so generally if you want more you should look into directors from there

I've heard plenty of my college friends and professors recommend the show since it hits close to the line of work we're doing.

is it bad that i found it super unappealing visually

but visually it just looked super cheap, especially considering it had a $150 million budget
there were tons of scenes that just looked like really obvious blue-screen

there were definitely green screen scenes, but you can count those on your fingers
Most of the film was practical effects
