Sometimes I wish I were a sports fan myself. People seem to have a lotta fun at games.
tbh i've only followed the kings for ~5 years
and i always worry about telling people that because then you get all the shit about being a bandwagon fan who only likes them because they're good
but let me tell u this
those people do not understand how needlessly difficult it is to follow a sports team on the opposite end of the country in sport that gets them maybe 3 nationally televised games in a season
since 2013 i've missed about 2 regular season games

it's fun to sit around and watch a game with friends even if you or they aren't super into it
it's just a good time
i say as 95% of the time i watch games alone :U

Americans and Canadians seem to have more respect for professionals and authorities.
my town is sorta shit with all these drug crimes going on
it's like noone ever acknowledges it but I've seen it so much that I'm frankly tired of it and can't wait until I go back to college

was in kind of a rough place back then and needed a hobby or something to get into as some kind of escapism i guess
knew that the nhl playoffs were starting and figured now was as good a time as any to get into the nhl after just paying attention to the ahl my whole life
i never really felt any attachment to a "home" team since the closest team is hours away and there's ~8 teams in that distance from me anyway, the only nhl fan in my family was a flyers fan and i didn't wanna just go with that so i just started watching as many teams as i could during the playoffs
i watched a couple kings games with no idea about how unusually well they were doing that year, i just ended up really liking their style of play, the kind of big defensive game that's now the norm in the west
followed them through the playoffs and they ended up winning the whole thing, felt pretty cool but i figured it must've been amazing for the people who had been following them the whole season, let alone those that'd been fans for the 47 years it took them to bring home a cup
stuck with them since, was immediately thrown into the 2012 lockout which made things difficult, had trouble following them well once play started but come the playoffs all their games were finally on tv again, followed them through that and had a great time
got serious about it in 2013-14, followed every single game (except one game and i'm still mad about it) watched the kings players on their olympic teams and all that
as you might know 2014 is also the year they won their second cup, the way i felt that night is pretty much unmatched by anything that's ever happened to me
now i'm hooked and even tho i have to stay up until 1am most nights watching games that i can't follow on twitter or anything because of streaming delays i don't think i'd trade it for anything
that was kinda long i apologize but i don't think i've ever written it out before

my hometown is ranked extremely high in the united states for drug problems, considering its very tiny
its a huge place for drugs to move between baltimore, philly, and DC
i guess i slept through half the day.
woke up feelling like the hot pocket was destroying my insides.

yeah it's crazy like
the arson from last year was apparantly due to some drug related shenanigans
fucking risked killing a family that rented part of the building because the shady ass house owner did something to piss him off
fucking hell there's a lot of crazies here too
and let's not forget the arson from night to monday that ended up killing a man, most likely because they sheltered immigrants
