How is the food in the Army?
How is the food in the Army?
The DFACs are actually pretty good. You have a ton of food choices in them, and it is extremely cheap. I usually fix all of my own meals though.
"DFACs"?
"DFACs"?
Dining facilities. [editline]22nd July 2012[/editline] OK FP, I have a run to do at 0700 so it is time for me to hit the sack. I will be sure to answer all of your questions when I get back from it.
great books, don't try to read them in order
Will do. [editline]23rd July 2012[/editline]
Have you ever kicked ass and chewed bubble gum at the same time.
No, but I can pat my head and rub my stomach at the same time. [editline]23rd July 2012[/editline] Good lord, I take a look at fast threads and it is inundated with "Ask an ______ anything" threads. I never meant for this to happen. [editline]23rd July 2012[/editline] Ok, off to PT.
What was your recruiter like when you spoke to him? Did he give you things straightforward, or did he kinda sugarcoat it?
What was your recruiter like when you spoke to him? Did he give you things straightforward, or did he kinda sugarcoat it?
I had an awesome recruiter. He never sugarcoated anything, and he helped me achieve my goals for joining the Army. He would pull job codes every day, and call me if an aviation MOS came up.
This thread is one of the finest threads I've ever read. [editline]23rd July 2012[/editline] Damn it [t]http://pds22.egloos.com/pds/201103/18/63/e0055563_4d836327a0731.jpg[/t]

Also, we don't use the ALQ-144 anymore (the thing right behind the pylon that looks like a cylindrical red disco ball). So glad too. It was a total pain in the ass to do anything that involved that general area, as you had to work around it. So glad it is gone. [editline]23rd July 2012[/editline] Ok guys, off to work. I am looking forward to answering more questions when I get back. You guys are great.
How do MREs taste?
Depending upon the one you get, they are awesome. Stay away from the mashed potatoes though. [editline]23rd July 2012[/editline]
depends on the flavor have you ever made a MRE bomb
Yep, certainly have. [editline]23rd July 2012[/editline] Ok guys, I hate to post and run, but the 6th battalion command sergeant major is coming through my barracks soon so I need to tidy up.
fuck, mre mashed potatoes are literally like foam or something
Yeah they are fucking terrible. I really like the cheese tortellini. They come with ranger bars.
isn't it funny that any show that has mashed potatos in it it tastes nasty (First show that comes to mind is M.A.S.H.)
isn't it funny that any show that has mashed potatos in it it tastes nasty (First show that comes to mind is M.A.S.H.)
Yeah, especially because I can make damn good mashed potatoes.
soldier fuel bars are awesome unless they've been out in the cold than they're bricks. oh god winter FTX they were our only food
I remember for our FTX we all huddled around the generator for warmth. That was the coldest I have ever been.
I remember for our FTX we all huddled around the generator for warmth. That was the coldest I have ever been.
yeah it sucks. I remember waking up in a tent in the middle of the winter and my foot was frozen. i was walking around like I had to take a massive shit. my CO was laughing... what a dick
They make your jaw really sore.
how so, never had one
how so, never had one
They are super super chewy. They also aren't exactly small, so you chew them forever so your jaw gets sore.
Why are there so many dickheads on this thread. Seriusly respect soldiers for what they do for you. OP, if you could choose to drive another tank, which one would it be?
Why are there so many dickheads on this thread. Seriusly respect soldiers for what they do for you. OP, if you could choose to drive another tank, which one would it be?
Well, considering I don't drive tanks, this question is easy. I would love to drive an old T-72. In fact, at some point in my life I plan on getting one. However, getting a plane or helicopter takes priority.
Do you think your positive outlook on being in the Military will be lowered when you are deployed and get into combat?
Do you think your positive outlook on being in the Military will be lowered when you are deployed and get into combat?
No, because I knew it would be part of the job. I may be a positive guy that is nice, but I will not hesitate to kill another human being if he is attacking me or my buddies. Deployment will make some people jaded, but not me. Also, my job has me being a total fobbit. We have infantry and pathfinders for patrols and security.
