Found an old PS/2 trackball mouse in the cupboard that's probably older than I am. If this laptop had a PS/2 port i'd totally give it a try. Show up to uni, my friends having fairly recent laptops and decent mice, and I show up with an old junker of a laptop; keys taped in place and a mouse that remembers the years before they were born :v:
