Thing is, Facebook is the social networking Google. "Everybody" uses it, as "everybody" uses Google to search the web. Even if a newcomer comes and tries to establish themselves (think Microsofts Bing), noone will really care, because Facebook is pretty much the standard.
So were other social networks before facebook
i think that this thread is full of autistic freaks
That atheists that go around shoving their beliefs where they don't belong is, believe it or not. Just as annoying as theists that do the same. I just use atheists in examples more because on the internet, they do it more. They put religious discussions where they don't belong, and fail to realize that no, there has not been some odd, obscure study where atheism was proven and everything else ever was wrong. So they should shut up and admit, atheism is based just as much on faith as anything else, it's just as unproven as any other hypothesis about the creation of the universe.
You started off alright but towards the end there are just so many things wrong with this.
Well, it is a thread about unpopular opinions.
So they should shut up and admit, atheism is based just as much on faith as anything else, it's just as unproven as any other hypothesis about the creation of the universe.
That's really, really not how it works. Not all 'unproven' ideas deserve to be held in the same regard.
Websites like Facebook or Myspace is a waste of bandwidth and resources No one fucking cares how good your sandwich tastes.

No ghosts, god, satan, demons, etc. No matter what anybody tells me until I have evidence of it, It does not exist. And I have been this way for nearly a decade. Even though I know there is no super-entity, I am fine with people practising stuff in private. What I do not like is when religion gets economic, military, political or social power.

I hate people who I have to explain what an atheist is, and then tell them I am atheist - just for them to tell me: "YOU DUN BELEEV IN GAWD???????? YOU GOES TO HELL FAGET!!!!!"
That's really, really not how it works. Not all 'unproven' ideas deserve to be held in the same regard.
What makes any idea of how the universe was created any more proven than another? Also, when was atheism proven? Seeing as how you put unproven as 'unproven', because going all-out and saying "yup, atheism was proven, we win" 'really, really' isn't how it works either.

I don't believe in anything that does not evidence to support it, I have yet to see any for a god/gods. 2) The big bang has infinitely more evidence than any religious creation theory
I agree with this But not this 1) Atheism is a lack of belief in god, not an explanation of the creation of the universe. But yeah, I did word that badly. Why are people surprised to find an opinion that conflicts their own in a thread all about unpopular opinions?

Seeing as how you put unproven as 'unproven', because going all-out and saying "yup, atheism was proven, we win" 'really, really' isn't how it works either.
It's not proven because many ideas of god are unfalsifiable, therefore atheism can never truly be proven, however you seem to be implying that if it isn't proven then it is no more valid then any other unproven idea, and that is just wrong. Atheism isn't proven, but all scientific evidence supports it, and to say that an idea with the all the evidence behind and an idea with no evidence behind it are equal simply because neither are proven or disproven is just silly.
i think that this thread is full of autistic freaks
I think it's stupid when people throw the word 'Autistic' around in the same manner as 'retarded' or 'gay.' It's just kind of annoying seeing as I have a form of Autism, yet my IQ is 158. [editline]15th July 2011[/editline] All this talk about Atheism and Theism makes being Agnostic feel great.

Sadly, half of america's politicians don't, and instead try to shove religious backed laws down the throat for their religion and trying to force everyone to conform. I believe if someone is to try to implement religion in any way when there's a specific law that says seperation of church and state should be impeached immediately.

At times I can be naïvely optimistic and I feel that that can be quite unpopular, especially when it cuts into peoples' cynical... erm, what's the nice term for circlejerks?
That the average facepuncher is a smart person even the ones I don't agree with. [editline]15th July 2011[/editline] Oh and that school (not counting college) doesn't really make you more logical it just prepares you for a repetitive job, getting up early and gives you social skills. [editline]15th July 2011[/editline]
All this talk about Atheism and Theism makes being Agnostic feel great.
Your probably an agnostic atheist and don't know it. As long as your not completely in the middle you are either an agnostic theist or an agnostic atheist.
You've obviously never been to a church have you.
Yes, I have. Many times.

I don't really care what people think of religion. Not what I believe in? Good for you. Don't try to get me to like it. Games are too easy now. Only a few good ones have came out. I liked Magicka because it was difficult and fun to play with your friends. Reminded me of Gauntlet Legends. Games are all run and gun now. No actual thinking about how you're going to kill a bad guy. Also lack of boss battles. (excluding bulletstorm, zelda games, and DNF) I miss the pre 2005 games.
I don't think Megan Fox is hot
Fart jokes are fucking hilarious

Infact the addition of iron sights has slowed running and gunning. Unreal Tournament is big culprit and has always had that at its core gameplay. But its your opinion and I respect it.

My turn: During my posting career on Facepunch I've realized what I hate the most, there's this overall passive/conformist posting trend I always see, and it's more anal in various places in the forum. If you don't have something to say that everyone else agrees with (thread circlejerking), you'll start ultimate shitfests depending on what subforum you're in. And I don't mean starting a religion debate in the middle of LMAO pics, I mean the smallest shit you can imagine. I just don't give a damn if you don't like my opinion, fucking deal with it. As long as I or anyone else isn't flaming or some shit that will get you banned, sit down and take it like a fucking man. Threads are for discussion, not solely for other posters to grab firmly on your prepubescent testicles while licking the head of your dick with every word that you type. I figure this is going to be an unpopular social opinion relative to Facepunch's community, but some shitheads here really take sandpaper to my eyeballs.
I don't think Megan Fox is hot
People say she's hot, or she's ugly. She is neutral to me. I get no kind of feelings by looking at her.
Yes, I have. Many times.
I don't think that you've ever seen any actually nurturing church communities though. Because religion provided an extreme comfort to me a few years ago when my house burned down an my family was displaced for seven months. We were forced to live at our grandparents house. During that time and after, the congregation at our parents church offered help and support beyond what I could even comprehend at that time. People would donate cooked meals, money, carpentry supplies and their own time and effort in order to help us move back in our home and get back on our feet. I may not still believe in the ideas of that church, but if it weren't for the help and emotional support of that community of wonderful people, my family may have ended up in a much worse situation than we find ourselves now. At that church, they don't even hate non-Christians, or Gays, they believe that everyone is a child of God and that he loves everyone equally. In fact, I've asked the minister extensively about the ethics of their church and he even said he doesn't personally believe in hell, that's pretty ironic seeing as he's from Georgia. Rather than conversion, they focus on help in the community and helping people lead more healthy, happy lives. I don't want convince any Atheists, or anyone else for that matter to my side in any way, I just thought that some random people on the internet should know that not all Christians are dumb fat bigoted assholes. I don't give a damn about what you think about how I live my life, I'll respect people of different beliefs than me and if you don't respect mine than you can go shove a sword up your ass.
