so facepunch greatly helped me stop typing like a retard on a net and basically is my best source for the english language, which explains why i still do so many flaws in simple grammatical matters
i was a grammar nazi for a period too, but dabbed off to just be who i am today, a guy that dislikes bad grammar, lack of punctuations and capital letters
i have never found it to be pointless or dumb to teach and tell people to type properly, and never have i not known that this is just a place to chillax, take it cool and have fun, but you can do all that without acting like a fucking vegatable tard, see, i have the goods from both worlds there
it actually matters if you type properly or not, you dont have to be an english master, just stuff like trying to spell as proper as possible, use capital letters and punctuations at the end of your sentences. just try and its usually awright

the problem is a lot of people trying to teach and change are forcefully doing it including to resorting to desperate measures, even to making threads and callouts about it or reporting to a moderator, most cases are brushed off and laughed at, there are the occasionally cases they do work but they're very rare
