Kara no Kyoukai isn't good enough to be worth wasting time on making hi-res pictures for it.
Disagreed.

Imma go with something plain.
Just no.
I'd rather have them put Oni-chan than brother. Who the hell talks to their siblings and actually says "Hey BROTHER what are you doing. Most people I know with brothers or sisters say "Hey NAME". Very rarely have I heard brothers and sisters call each other by saying "brother" or "sister".
It's common courtesy to refer to people in your family by title in most Asian countries.
Onii-tan~
Crap, where is this from...

You have.
Though at the same time it was kind of the truth from my side. Some of the movies are average. Some above average. But all in all, eh, nothing special.
And all they ever do with the drawings are putting lots of colours and gradients on them (Or just go for a cold, yet slightly warm blue colour) and have Shiki pose with her knife. Be in the middle of a jump pose (usually with her knife). Be blood stained (usually with a bloody knife). Or just stand around in a kimono or her red jacket. Pretty boring stuff.

Then what did you think about the story?

Oh my. He even put on the underwear.
The story? Nothing I haven't seen before really. Slightly original maybe, but eh, it just develops into any other kind of movie. Just centering itself around bad ass fighting with evil masterminds, so to say, and love between a normal person and a monster making an image of what true love is and all that.

It's more than just that. Between all the movies it focuses on identity (2, 7), memory (5, 6), perception (5) (I think I missed some but w/e).
who car about identity
Jimi Hendrix isn't a real-world musician?
They've been mentioning real-world musicians many times.
Pretty sure they just mentioned Jimi and the one said above.

Identity. Yeah. That's original and interesting... Who am I. What am I. What's human. Am I freak? What defines a freak? Who are we? What makes me me and not him? Yadda yadda. Boring.
Unless it's done Memento style I generally dislike stories centering around memories. What happened before? Hurf, I got teh amnesiases! What's correct? What's wrong? Did that really happen? Is that really my father/mother? Can I trust this person? Can I not trust this person? Ugh...
Perception can be cool. What's reality, what isn't. Am I dreaming now or am I awake? Is this really happening? Etc etc. But I didn't like the way they executed that in the movie. This was also the movie with the worst execution of the evil guys. It was pathethic how standard they were. Serious faced Snape thinking he knows it all and is invincible. Even got dem eyes around the place with his monster mass thingie. And that magician was just goddamn annoying. I hate that stereotype the most. The smart lunatic that freaks out. Oh and of course the classic "Surprise! Not dead, twas just trickery!". Ugh.
Actually, I address my sister by her fist name in English, but by calling her "younger sister" or similar honorifics in other languages and vice versa. It may sounds odd in English, but not so much in other languages.
I know. I never said it was wrong or anything like that, I'm agreeing. My point was that it sounds odd in English or English translations. It being Onii-chan/san or Onee-chan/san or whatever other way you'd like to say it, sounds fine in languages other than English. But when it's said in English, I personally think it sounds weird. I'm not saying it's wrong.

That's because he did know it all and he was invincible (and Shiki had story breaker power). The thing is I just can't see how Araya's character can be played out in any other direction. The only other options, knowing his character's goals, are whiny moralfaggot or emo douche or [shitty villan archetype].
Fair enough, I hated that magician too. I read that his character gets more development in the novels, but that doesn't matter since we're talking about the movie, not the novel.
I never thought once that it was the simple "dohohoho i trick you" thing. If you knew the character enough it doesn't make sense to have them die; it's out of character if that wasn't their plan in the first place. It's like Clint Eastwood in that one western where he has the metal plate under his poncho.
Kara no Kyoukai is eaten up by Type-Moon faggots so ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌

That's why translators don't use direct translations.
"Get me the dildo, onii-chan" is rendered as
"Get me the didlo, [name]" in subtitles (with groups like gg).
It isn't that big of a deal to change it so that it would look better in English (like gg's translations).
Leaving stuff in like "onii-chan" or honorifics (sometimes) is terrible when the subject matter is different (ex. Vinland Saga with honorifics and untranslated Japanese words is weird and out of place)
