I didn't say that. I was rather complaining about your stereotypical complaint agains the current industry falling down the shitter when the industry has always been like this.
Things are hardly getting better or worse in anything. It's rather we that grow and get higher demands and feel more need for fresh blood.
I'm quite extreme there as you already know. But if you compare shit from the old times to the current times not much has changed other than the quality of visual stuff and exactly what the plots are applied to. Things adapt to the new times, but it's still just an adapting evolution of the same old stuff.
There is also the internet to blame. We have everything available so fast and easy that we get spoiled pretty fast and we have a lot more to choose from. The percentage of shit and quality good stuff is pretty much always the same. But ammount grows, thus our occurences with shitty stuff also grows and it gets more tedious and worse to find good stuff because you often plow through more shit in ammount before you find something good.

Then, nah, not really. If you start looking at all the shitty games for the SNES and Commodore out there you'll see something similar to the current games. There is also nostalgia making us look at it more positivily and thus also react towards it more positiviely.
