Lots of serious stuff has comedy relief. That's a way to make a breather and to make the action not feel dragged out. By having some breathers you won't get bored because it just goes on and on and on.
That's also why there are so many movies that are action comedies and not just action. Action and comedy usually works a lot better than pure action. Pure action usually becomes comedy because it's just action, and usually too much of it so that it becomes ridicilous.
So I wouldn't put that as mark to put a difference between serious and not serious.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is a comedy parody that has a small ammount of seriousness that keeps it up and walking instead of just becoming a big fat joke that is trying too hard.
Gundam is a serious franchise that has small ammounts of comedy to not make it tedious and boring.
Same thing goes with Bad Company's jokes during a battle
Kimi ni Todoke - 21
Makes me wonder if we're even going to hear Kazehaya and Kuronuma confess their love or if they're just going to make in an "open" "And life goes on, and they're bound to get together at some time" ending.
It has 3 episodes left and the next one is most likely not going to be spent on leading towards Kazehaya and Kuronuma's relationship.
And pushing it out of them in 2 episodes, sounds like it could become a bit rushed, but on the other hand, that is 40 minutes. Annoys me that they (the author) couldn't make it so it progresses a bit further after that too. I like that a lot more. I don't just want to see a couple get together, the end. I want to see a couple get together and see how they handle it too.
Like Itazura na Kiss. Now that was a real romance show.
Dance in the Vampire Bund - 8
Great episode, I think it was the best actually, now the plot doesn't really feel that rushed or anything, thought it did contain clichès and it does have a small plot push since it's now introducing a new plot that'll only go for 4 episodes, which includes the conclusion. Unless they are going to make a second season.
Animation wise it really was the best episode, that one week schedule push was a wise move, made them get in a lot more animation, and the ED got finished. But sometimes the animation gave me the impression of my media player lagging, some of the animation lasted for so few frames it looked like it had problems instead. And they did a lot of fast zooms instead of slow ones that looked like it almost skipped at times. But still, nothing major, just a bit "Uh, is this playing correctly?".
It's a pretty good show.
As long as one survives the first few episodes.
I mean goddamn. Pigface was such a turn off, and it startes off so... Incredibly generic.
Not to say it isn't relatively generic throughout the whole show, but it's of the good kind.

I'll never take Dragoshi seriously at all anymore.
"AND THEY SHOWED IT"
No, they didn't. They just showed her looking at a truck, the truck driving by and then some blood somehow flying slowly infront of the guys face.
That's not fucking showing it. And it's definitely not SPLATTERED ACROSS THE STREET.

Kurokami is a fairly generic show. I wouldn't bother watching it unless you like the shounen formula or hearing Kuro go "MEGGAAA EEKKS" 5+ times per episode.
doesn't that mean it's not very good
No.

it just means kamikaze is a fag
wait I meant it like "does that mean YOU don't think it's very good"
The answer is still no.
There are more than one reason to forgetting to watch something.
Like homework. Doing things with friends. Being caught up in games or friends. Listening to some song. Eating dinner. All that jazz.
i liked kimi no toeoedokke, but her voice annoyed me so i stopped watching it
[editline]04:20PM[/editline]
Read all "your" as gundam-fags, not actually you, because I dunno.
Just because you aren't as widespread doesn't mean you aren't widespread.
You're not as retarded because you spend most of your time setting all the gundam model sets you buy together and discuss and set all the different stories together. All that building and connecting makes you shut up more. Thus you also become less retarded.
Also there isn't that many that dress up as a Gundam, and you don't have the same kind of stupid super moves. And you don't mix in martial arts with super powers and tries to learn moves from the show and show off to others.
also in a non-related subject, Mars of Destruction is the best thing ever.
Gundam has been going on for way longer than any of the other shows like Bleach, Dragonballz, Sailor Moon, Naruto and One Piece. Not constantly airing, but that doesn't really matter.
And yes, you did.
how did I end up missing this post? Now I just feel stupid :v:
Anyways I've got to agree there, most of the time Gundam fans hide in the shadows and don't act retarted in publc, except the kids who grew up watching Gundam SEED.
Gantz; Who read it, who watched it? Opinions on both? I finally got caught up on the manga after giving up with the anime two episodes into its second half. Wondering if there's anyone else who's kept tabs with it.
i used to watch gundam wing but i dont discuss it with anybody
and that gundam with the golden palm
was it g gundam i dunno
