Just finished Hayate no Gotoku 26
Halfway through this series, and it's pretty good considering it manages to keep my attention for the most part and it's funny; hopefully the next 26 episodes won't be bad either

also, this week's FMA: B ended quite weakly
Anyone have the picture of Rin Tezuka (the armless girl) that looks just like these where she's lying down smiling? Although in the picture of her she still has her clothes on.

Also, it was at one time posted in one of the FA threads, so I know someone must have it. Yes I looked through them, but you can't use the 'View images" function when you use the search to find threads. I looked through first 20 pages of Fast threads for all of the FA threads, but none of them had it. Also next post gets top of page.
Well I'm in between on this one, pretty much all of our positives and negatives in our country, we had to thank our invaders. Chinese gave us our ways of work and culture using organic and inorganic materials, they're also a good country to trade with. The Spanish gave us culture, religion, language, economy, currency and methods of work and communication, but they also enslaved us and stuff. The Americans gave us more technology, language, culture, an establishment for a proper government & economy and also helped our asses back then and even now. Probably at most they did awful to us was their culture also had negative impact on the youth and shit, you know "globalization" negatives.
Spain really didn't "give" us those things, it was more like it was forced onto us. Religion, language, economy, they even gave us names, and they were responsible for enslaving us, and keeping us uneducated. Some of those actions are things that are commendable, and we should be thankful for, but all of those invaders (except for the Chinese, I think) were all under the arrogant imperialist pretense that "you are uneducated savages so we will interfere because we know what is right", which feels very degrading. Take a look at this caricature

The Filipino is depicted as a backwards savage, who's fate lies in the hands of the American with no true liberty.
It's the feeling that "you should be thankful that the superior American intervened" is what really gets me. It's like he is directly responsible for my current status today, and I owe him gratitude or something.
Also, with all these exterior influences, where has the original culture gone to then?
Fuck the Japanese though
:respek:
For me freedom is dynamic, there's the freedom of being free to do whatever you want, there's the freedom of following an order, and there's the slavery of no total freedom at all. What I think the Americans did was the freedom of following an order unlike the Spanish slavery.
I don't get this, explain "freedom of following an order"
I do on occasion. Just not Supa Kawaii Desu No Baka Gaijin Bento Box Kurosawa Miyazaki Lucky Strike Tennis Princess of Games Oshikuru Fun-Time♪ like you guys.
I enjoyed GitS, FLCL, TTGL, and Excel Saga. Everything else has an infinite amount of episodes that even if I did want to watch them, I would be dead before I finished them.
Pfft, we watch it all as long as it isn't mecha.
Well, we is a broad term.
Some of us.
You are just like some of my Philipino friends that I have irl; always tells me about the histories of the Philipines
-snip-
Once i thought my friend was all knowing about computers
then i told facepunch what he said to me about i7s, and people on Facepunch called him an idiot
i stopped listening to him about computers after that :C
otherwise my friends are pretty average, except for the super weeaboo gay dargon furry.

oh man dude lol, you're like now the clone of my AP (Araling Panlipunan, also known as Social Studies & Economics for non-Pinoy faggots).
You have a pretty big point there, sounds like it does seem like we're just dirty broken puppets fixed up and forced to do some big name circus show (Spain) then some carnival (America) crushed the circus since it's sucky and no rides and shit, so they crushed them with roller-coasters and shit and now us the puppets get more fixed up or something like that (lol horrible comparison)
Yeah the Chinese were pretty gangsta, they just helped us a lot, they just go "hey we do this on our country to get money & bitches, maybe you should too if you like" then "kthxforlisteningtousbai" unlike the other invaders were "yo fuckin' do this, we fuckin' gonna work "together" whether you like it or not, we shall be your superiors and shit" or something like that. When you make it like that, it's sounds a bit unfair we're forced already on the "westernized" kind of living. Hmmmm now I really am starting to get my Filipino and AP teachers now about globalization, lost of original culture and shit.
Hmmm about this freedom of following an order, hmmm maybe you can say "we can either live like a gangsta or live like an eskimo" kind of thing, once again bad comparison lol but that's kind of what I'm trying to say, and it's kind of stupid I guess haha.
Anyways, guess it's better to instead of thanking them with gratitude. Better go like "hey we're really happy we got some modern tech and shit from yous an' all playas but fuck ya'll cuz you made me lose mah original rhymes and shit, now I'm like Soulja Boy instead of 2Pac, sure I'm not dead yo but hey I lost my dignity, originality and shit." :U
