it isn't illegal to download a game you already own though
you own a licensee to use a specific copy
I wish I could torrent CoD4 and use my CD key to activate it But then I bought my copy of CoD4 from Gamespot, therefore the key is considered a "Gamespot" key. IN ALL FAIRNESS IT WAS THE FIRST PC GAME I EVER BOUGHT
I'd like to point out irregardless is a retarded term
[editline]18th August 2011[/editline] eninco for shittiest poster '11! [editline]18th August 2011[/editline] On topic, it is illegal to pirate a copy of something without express permission of the copyright holder, whether you already own a paid-for copy or not. However, you have every moral right to do so if your game doesn't work. You could get in contact with Infinity Ward's customer service or whatever, but really you're saving them work by just pirating a working copy for yourself, and they've already been paid for one game (which is all you'll have.) Remember that the legal system != the justice system. Use your own discretion to define right and wrong, fair and unfair. Some game companies withhold rights to a ridiculously zealous degree. Take Nintendo for example. If you were to be caught emulating a game of theirs from the 90's, a game that has long since gone out of production and cannot make them a cent now, they would still hang, draw and quarter you. They hold the copyright, so they can choose to be complete fuckheads about legacy software because the laws are there to back them up.
