Well, those don't seem so minor. They seem kinda major. Changing a character doesn't seem as simple. It ain't just the name, it's the appearance and nature of the characters that also require change. Besides, even after changing, they still bear similarities, almost like an unapproved parody.
Personally, it's just an idea. I don't want to make profit off of this one, regardless of it's epicness. I've got other ideas that are pretty much totally original, and have potential for profit. But this one is just for fun, a mere amalgation of concepts, woven in different ways.
Although to be fair, I have kinda made an adjustment to the Blaze character. Y'see, the Blaze i've used is kinda based on the character of the same name from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, except i've altered and expanded on her background and personality, so in all fact, she's kind of a "parallel" Blaze, and might be a little better than the original version that Sega designed.
Whereas the normal Blaze was level-headed, calm and kinda withdrawn, the parallel Blaze is hot-headed, paranoid and potentially psychopathic, similar to how the Pyro is. Whereas original Blaze is merely pyrokinetic, the parallel Blaze excells in the power of Hellenic magic (derogativery called kid's magic, due to the extreme ease of usage and learning of it), which is based on the classical Greek elements of earth, fire, wind and water. Whereas original Blaze fought alongside Sonic in several of his "adventures", this Blaze never met Sonic, instead arriving in Hub, and growing up fighting against Majestic 12 as one of Vorador's top agents. (MJ12 secretly commandeered the world after the Combine were defeated, and Vorador, who had arrived at a similar time, secretly sired a new cabal of Vampires in Europe as a "secret army" for Gordon Freeman's plans to liberate the Earth from the plutocratic grip of MJ12)
That's just one example of change i've made to a character. Many other "non-original" characters also have alterations to their backgrounds, their personalities, their capabilities, etc.

If you sprinkle each character with a lot of small differences, it'll look like an actual big difference.
Can't get Borderlands to work, piece of shit computer.
Gordon Freeman? Sonic? Hub? Combine?
That sounds terrible
Yeah, I kinda did that with Blaze. It sorta helps to not know as much about the original, just design them with your own parameters in mind.
Also, don't disprove it until you've read all of it, FCG. There's plenty of it in the earlier threads. It's much larger than you think, and I have barely revealed any of it yet. A lot of stuff yet to be shown, to complete the "Hublander" saga (finally decided on a name for the multiverse series).

Believe me, Smirnoff Joe makes it quite entertaining to read. And you're hearing this from a H.P. Lovecraft fan.
This is like Limbo of the Lost: The Book

I know, it sounds a bit like Highlander. I will admit, one of the subplots is of Damien's search for power, but there aren't countless others like him that he has to kill in order to become the one. Besides, I based the name of the fact that most of the characters, Damien's friends and suchlike, are inhabitants, be they native or from other universes, of the dimension designated as Hub.
Although I probably think I should pluralise it, make it Hublanders, since it follows the stories of multiple people, not just the journey of Damien, even if the stories are perpetually entwined with each other, acting as a single story.
Also, FCG, did you rate yourself agree?

Also this sounds like a book of clichés, probably full of "fancy" words and overlong descriptions just to make your writing look good and extremely unoriginal characters.

From what I've seen, it's entertaining and Joe is an addict for long words either way.
Falling asleep, no fap October ends at midnight, then I'll be free!
I think you should restart from a new concept
