So how exactly does this help at all? I have several gigabytes in my bin and I don't notice anything different.
It frees space from your C: drive.
If you C: drive gets full enough, it starts to slow down the computer quite significantly.
At an given moment my recycle bin as between 0 and 20 GB within it. I record videos a lot and I empty it about every week.
When i delete files they just get away. No recycle bin here.
I empty it every time I put something in it.
Why not just shift + delete
Nothing goes to my recycling bin.
My recycling bin is empty. I check it once in a while everyday.
Hmm, I should empty my fraps movies..
Mine is at 131G
Yea, i use shift + del myself too. LOT quicker to delete stuff.
I just shift delete everything. If you're gonna delete a file, do it proper.

Oh my god HOW?
Just do what I do, set CCleaner to run every night automatically, and Defraggler to run automatically every week

I just checked here saying "Pfft, I barely have anything in mine", I check and I have 14,6 GB's in there. :v:
Fraps footage mostly though, which explains it.

I want this too!
[editline]03:00PM[/editline]
Oh wait, it's simple.
Does windows 7 even have a recycle bin?
If so I can't find it
[editline]04:24PM[/editline]
found it
0
I got a habit of emptying it as soon as I delete something.
Instead of clicking delete, just hold shift-delete and it will permanently delete it so you don't have to empty your recycle bin.
After deleting TF2 (so I have a clean install), a shit-ton of Fallout 3 mods, another shit-ton of Oblivion mods, and other 4-6 games, I had ~38 GB. When you click "Delete Local Content" in Steam it does NOT get rid of all the files. :frown:
What if my actual recucling bin are placed ontop of my computer?
31.0GB
Thanks :buddy:
I shift+delete all the time
this sometimes is an issue.

Why empty it? It's only 9GB.
[editline]01:36PM[/editline]
I was thinking.
Your computer leaves all those 1's and 0's on the hard drive until you actually wipe it or it's overwritten. Does deleting even do anything? Even if you empty the recycle bin you can still get the files back.
Does anyone know how to change the COMPUTERS sounds? I want to change the deleting to the Energy ball explosion sound :v:

When you "delete" it the file becomes marked for overwriting. If this never happened you could lose any file at any time. Either that or you would never be able to overwrite, So a one-time harddrive.
This doesn't really affect performance at all.

Yes, you can get them back, maybe, but windows will stop indexing them so there will be more space for files.
I empty it every time I delete something.

.wav.
Now.
I never empty it because I might want to go back and get something at a later time.
[editline]02:01PM[/editline]
Of course I just happened to have emptied it today.
4.3 GB.
Brb, emptying this shit, thread has opened my eyes.
8.08 gigabytes...
Deleting 26.2 GB. Hmm.
My record is 29.2 mb. You people seriously have some organizational issues.

I am SO doing this.
Also, I only have 104 bytes.
