The moon is in space. In space there is no "upside-down" whatsoever. You can approach the moon in different ways in space, but you cant determine it as upside-down in any way.

If you wanted to get technical, you could find the axis of rotation of the planet, as is done with Earth. But that leaves the question of which pole is on the top?
The question applies to Earth too. Why is the north pole considered up?

if there is a surface and gravitational pull, there is most certainly a down.
by your standard, earth is also in space and therefore there is no determinable right-side-up.
