if there is a surface and gravitational pull, there is most certainly a down.
by your standard, earth is also in space and therefore there is no determinable right-side-up.
Uh, yes there is - just go to the NORTH pole

look at mr physics professor over here
magnetic north has nothing to do with perceptive up vs upside-down in regards to my post, we're talking about the relativity of the moon on the other side of a theoretical zero-point dimensional portal from the floor of a place on earth to the ground on the moon. Perceptual up to a human is ground at feet, sky at head. I'm pretty sure you can figure that out out if you were at the moon's surface without a compass. Hell, even if you were trapped in a black box at the surface of the moon and had no way of seeing ground/sky, you could still figure it out because the moon still has gravitational pull and you'll inveritably end up standing on the ground-plane of your box.
to the original point (of seeing the moon landing from an upside-down concept), the moon is technically upside-down in respects to the room you exit and re-enter. Falling out of the room and having the airflow of the vacuum in your face would present it as still upside-down as the airflow presents more lift than there is gravity pulling you down. Your inner ear may say otherwise (though feel near weightless due to the severely lower gravity), but in reality you are being pushed upwards. I say it is best represented as 'upside-down' because you are hanging from the wheatley core, and caught before 'falling' and ultimately pulled back up into the room.
earth-visible right-side-up does have relation to north/south pole and standard visibility, though seeing the moon through a hole in the roof is hardly means to launch an expedition as you don't know what time of day it is, though the location is pretty much set in stone as midwest USA.

But it is all relative to where you stand. Even with gravity, theres no EXACT upside for the moon, for us humans it is related to the position of the earth. Say you are standing on the moon with the earth currently above your head, if you think in earth matters you are upside down.
I don't think theres a way to determine wether you are standing "upside down" or not, but I never got this deep into the subject, so go ahead and prove me wrong if I am. I am here to learn. (some of the time)
