A shame that it was so buggy :v:

I still play it now and again, but it got repetitive when the AI on hard can't even keep up. And Spiralmouth did some nice work on that and Twinsanity, I can't recall if they're still doing the newer ones.

Crash Nitro Kart was much closer to CTR, CTTR had far different racing mechanics.
