You don't have a barely covered up pretty boy without it having some fanservice. Also.....

Exceptionally beautiful young man.
There's absolutely no way you can say that MGS didn't have some fanservice for people who weren't straight men.
These kinds of examples don't work because the intent is entirely different.
Vamp licks white cum liquid off his cock knife and then begins dry humping a guy in that scene.
lmao it's insane how blind people are to male sexuality when discussing this topic.
Also to say that women who are sexy are reduced to nothing but being sexy is really just your problem. When your friend wears with a sexier outfit, do you suddenly reduce them to nothing but their sexiness? It's such a creepy mindset to have.

Raiden was literally made to be a pretty boy to attract female players. The intent is 100% the same there.
if there has to be sexual elements added, i would prefer it at least be kind of like bulma from the original dragon ball
she's cute sure, and there are comical sexually tense moments with her and other male characters, but she's much more than just sex appeal and she's a wonderful example of a strong female character
I always thought sexualized breastplates in games looked silly. XCOM made a small redesign in Enemy Within and made it look like it was that way from the start.

Unisex armor just seems way more practical.
Didn't know that about XCOM. Didn't know it was even mentioned before. I totally agree with Thompsonas; sexualized armor and 'boobplates' in games is REALLY weird and it really does serve to be blatant fanservice for players. This goes especially for mods.

I mean what purpose does this serve other than draw the eyes of horny 14 year olds? And why is the artstyle so different? Isn't Skyrim dirty, grimy, and just full of gross individuals?
I can get behind it if it fits in the story and the environment, but if its a big distraction and sticks out from the world than its a big problem. Nier: Automata and Dragon's Crown are good examples of this working with their worlds.
boob armor is dumb as hell and i wish game and movie designers would stop using it forever

Yes.

I generally feel this way as well, but I'd probably make an exception for when the male variant of the armor has pecs on the breastplate (aka gladiator-esque armor).

There's a time and place for it. What I mean by that is eg in the Witcher 3, the female characters who appeared sexualised were either potential love interests for Geralt, or were his former lovers. Meanwhile, for other characters such as Ciri (pretty much Geralt's adopted daughter), it absolutely makes sense that they are not sexualised.
It would be nonsensical and objectifying to have characters - female or male - sexualised merely for the sake of it.
Not very necessary. It's specially disturbing when they sexualize a child or they use child stuff in overly sexual characters.
Its a honeytrap, but whether its good or not, depends on whether that honeytrap will lead to real honey, or liquid shit.
Good honeytrap- Honeytrap that is used to attract players, to bring them into the good hidden substance of the game, which is the story, or gameplay. Ar Tonelico series is a good example.
Bad honeytrap- Fanservice without substance. Shit story, shit gameplay, the honeytrap itself is the substance. Popular example- Hyperdimension Neptunia.
Fighting games have been getting away with rampant fanservice for too long tbh
