• Turning 21. Actually waited to drink. What should I try?

If you want something that will make you pleasingly drunk and doesn't taste too strong you should try some flavored vodka. I'd get used to beer before that though. Go for pale ales.
I don't recommend going for hard liquor immediately. Just don't. If you've never had a drink before you will most likely end up vomiting on yourself. Really good tasting hard liquor can also be very deceptive and you end up drinking more than you can handle. Just go for a good beer. Beer doesn't get you too drunk too quickly. Especially first time drinking you'll want to be careful. Also eat first, drink a glass of water every now and then and have cold milk in the fridge for the morning after. I heard from a nurse that milk is actually given to drunken teens in hospitals. Just trying to be helpful here. I have seen with my own eyes first time drinkers passed out with vomit all over them and it's not a pretty sight. Don't be one of them.
my hangover meal is a plain omlette drenched in ketchup, an orange and a glass of milk
Ouzo Anise flavour! Much delcious Very wow Very drunk! Comes in nice bottle! Few have heard of it, pretend you're unique!
If you're drinking beer make sure it's cold, even the shittiest beer is palatable if it's cold enough. White Russians and Black Russians are delicious. Both are worth trying.

I suggest getting a hangover so you know what one is and why the fuck you don't drink too much, otherwise you might find out about hangovers on the wrong morning. Just trying to be helpful here. In the US, it's generally looked to as drink a bunch, order pizza(aka food of the gods), (optional)vomit, and pass out on your side in a bath tub. The 21st birthday is not a thing where you care about how drunk you get, just have someone with you who can drive to the hospital if needed. Milk is good because it speeds up digestion and puts you back to sleep, A+ drink for a hangover. [editline]19th February 2016[/editline]
my hangover meal is a plain omlette drenched in ketchup, an orange and a glass of milk
No, Chinese food or Mongolian BBQ is by far superior. Source: I work in IT so I am a professional drinker
I suggest getting a hangover so you know what one is and why the fuck you don't drink too much, otherwise you might find out about hangovers on the wrong morning.
That's a cool addition, but not really necessary IMO. If you have to be somewhere the next day, don't drink. That way when the hangover does strike it doesn't matter and you can have your nausea and cold sweats in peace. When you get to be over halfway to 30 you'll have to start thinking two days ahead. I'm beginning to have this problem at nearly 26.
21st birthday isn't about being a calm slow drinker. I still don't think getting yourself intentionally sick is worth it. Being drunk stops being fun when you get to be super shitfaced too.
Disagree entirely with this^ I would recommend caution if you're drinking for the first time. There is absolutely no good reason to drink so much that you vomit. I've been drinking since I was 16, had a lot of wild nights, and still pride myself on never having ended a night by vomiting, or literally not remembering the night before, which is what happens with some people when they're not careful about what they drink. If you rush into the decision to get shit-faced with no experience of what it's like, you'll not only regret it, you might not drink ever again. Don't let a bad experience stop you from enjoying something that can be a lot of fun while also leading to opportunities to meet people.
The puked part was in (these things) and what I was trying to say is get drunk at least. The rest, the puking included, was a personal "anecdote" based on what I've seen and what I know etc. about drinking habits around here. And so, I recommended that he should get at least drunk, okay "pretty darn dark" is what I said, but still not going over-board with it, so that he doesn't puke or anything. So you couldn't possibly disagree with it entirely. (Also vomiting can happen in the morning too.) And talk about decision making, well.. here OP has quite a lot to choose from now. I have no idea if he's going to regret buying half of the shit or not, that's why my drink recommendations were also kinda normal. Anyways, I'm not saying OP should spend the next night sleeping with his face on the floor, but he should get drunk. Your word of caution is definitely in place. Just have fun & try not to make a fool out of yourself.

has anyone said white russian? Try a white russian, they are b e a u t i f u l
has anyone said white russian? Try a white russian, they are b e a u t i f u l
ordering virgin white russian will especially impress everyone in a bar. [sp]It's just milk/cream depending where you're from[/sp]
has anyone said white russian? Try a white russian, they are b e a u t i f u l
First drink I ever had. Not gonna lie, The Dude may have influenced me a bit to try white russians when I turned 21. I almost exclusively had those for a while, but now I drink spiced rum & cream soda/coke. I also just recently starting making milkshakes with some irish cream in them. Holy fucking balls, it's amazing. I hate liking alcoholic drinks because the tax is so damn high here, it hits my wallet hard after every purchase.
drink everclear
drink everclear
Unless you know how to premeasure properly correctly or know how to make jungle juice don't fuck with everclear. Jungle Juice is great and a stupid cheap way to get a lot of people drunk at a party.
drink everclear
Do exactly what this guy does
If you're feeling rich, scotch is worth a try; once you get past the burning sensation, there's usually a fair amount of nuance to the taste of each sort. Blended scotch is pretty rough to drink as a general rule, while single malt goes down easier and tastes better.
Actually, scotch is blended to round off the idiosyncrasies inherent to single malts and make it easier to drink. Single malts are typically harsher but far more interesting e.g. the smoky, peaty notes of Islay malts, compared to the sweeter, rounder whiskies from Speyside. The probable reason why you think blended scotch is bad is because most blended scotch is cheap and awful.
Every bar i went to on my 21 gave me free shots. Go out and do that. Also Blue Moon with half an orange is FUCKING amazing.
Tastes great, and can get you ready before you try more bitter drinks.
Get Kraken rum, can confirm that stuff is the shit, especially when mixed with coke. also one of my personal favorites.
A Scorppio is damn nice as well. 1 part wodka, 1 part prosecco and two scoops of lemonicecream. Mix it in a blender and its fucking delicious
drink everclear
my first experience with everclear was when I was at a party with Jell-O shots and I had no idea that everclear was in them until I was about 5 shots deep :v: only time I've ever blacked out and I can't say I would want to do such a thing again

start with these
If you want to get fucked up, get some Red Bull and Jagermeister and do some Jagerbombs. But if you want to chill back and have a couple drinks with friends, Rum and Coke is the best way to go.
i had a rum and coke, but it tasted like i was drinking isopropyl alcohol and coke. i don't really drink but i do like those alcoholic rootbeers
i had a rum and coke, but it tasted like i was drinking isopropyl alcohol and coke. i don't really drink but i do like those alcoholic rootbeers
you gotta do dark rum for rum and coke. white rum is fucking gross no matter which way you cut it
i had a rum and coke, but it tasted like i was drinking isopropyl alcohol and coke. i don't really drink but i do like those alcoholic rootbeers
Bourbons are usually a good choice, though for anything good you have to be willing to shell out about $50 two good ones are Angel's Envy and Makers Mark 46
I went out last friday and had lots of drinks all which I could recommend -Fuzzy Navel -Vodka Cranberry -Vodka club soda
you gotta do dark rum for rum and coke. white rum is fucking gross no matter which way you cut it
eh i had no idea what rum they used, it was a texas steakhouse
Rum and pineapple juice
I found a whiskey liquer recently that's really good. It's called Irish Mist, it's like a sweet whiskey with a bunch of spices. I quite like it.
