Why would you put Japanese on that list but not Spanish?

In Sweden the first language you learn is English (Mandatory from First to Ninth Grade)
When you start sixth grade you get to choose a third language, usually these three are Spanish, French and German, most people take Spanish.
So Yeah i'm learning Spanish.
Native, English, german, french. Would like the option for japanese tho..
English and Spanish.

French, German, Spanish, Manadarin, Italian are all options. Though I learnt the first 3.

At Uni I only do programming languages, C++, Java, Matlab, Prolab and probably some others I have forgotten.

My school teaches Spanish, English, Japanese, German, French, and Latin.
We can choose between Spanish, French and Chinese. I do Chinese.
