A living specimen of Cyclopy, in this case a baby goat. It is suffering from, and I kid you not, "Sonic Hedgehog Homlog".
Once upon a time, a signaling molecule was found in fruit flies. The loss of function mutants were covered in spines, like a hedgehog, so they called it Hedgehog Homolog. Then scientists discovered three analogous genes in vertebrates. The first two they called Desert Hedgehog and Indian Hedgehog. The third one was named by Dr. Robert Riddle. According to the Times Union his kids had recently been playing a lot of Sonic the Hedgehog, but Harvard’s The Weekly Murmer says that Riddle came up with the name right after having seen his daughter’s Sonic the Hedgehog comic book that she brought from England. Maybe it’s both but I think it’s the latter because I don’t think Sonic was a popular game in the US in 1991. Anyway so he named the gene and the protein after the video game character. Even more strangely, the molecule inhibitor of Sonic Hedgehog Homolog is called Robotnikinin.
That is fucking terrifying.
Climate must have shifted because S-E Europe has been quite rainy this summer. The temperatures have also been about 25celsius at most.
So it's not climate change but climate shift. We're simply trading our own climates for those of another region. :v: This seems hilariously true year for me actually. My aunt moved to Los Vegas this year and has gotten a ton of rain and reasonably cool weather for the region while my area which would normally be like that instead just had its hottest June on record.
The Parachutist's "Ten Commandments"
A revealing document captured from a German paratrooper who was taken prisoner in Greece reveals much of the Fallschirmjägers elite attitude. Titled the Ten Commandments it listed the following instructions:

1. You are the chosen ones of the German Army. You shall seek combat and train yourselves to endure any manner of test. To you, battle shall be the fulfillment. 2. Cultivate true comradeship, for by the aid of your comrades you will conquer or die. 3. Beware of talking. Be not corruptible. Men act while women chatter. Chatter may bring you to the grave. 4. Be calm and prudent, strong and resolute. Valour and enthusiasm of an offensive spirit will cause you to prevail in the attack. 5. The most precious thing in the presence of the foe is ammunition. He who shoots uselessly, merely to comfort himself, is a man of straw who merits not the title of Fallschirmjäger. 6. Never surrender; to you death or victory must be a point of honour. 7. You can triumph only if your weapons are good. See to it that you submit yourself to this law - first thy weapon, then thyself. 8. You must grasp the full purpose of every enterprise, so that if your leader is killed you can fulfill it. 9. Against an open foe, fight with chivalry, but to a guerrilla, extend no quarter. 10. Keep your eyes wide open. Tune yourself to the utmost pitch. Be nimble as a greyhound, tough as leather, hard as Krupp steel. You shall be the German warrior incarnate.

Over 54,449 paratroops were killed in action and over 8,000 are still listed as missing in action.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallschirmj%C3%A4ger_(World_War_II) that shit is fucked
Well, when your in the army that loses the war, you tend to have those sort of numbers for casualties in your forces. The commandments reminds me of Roger's Standing Orders that is still being used by the US Army Rangers. Well, parts of it.
1. Don’t forget nothing. 2. Have your musket clean as a whistle, hatchet scoured, sixty rounds powder and ball, and be ready to march at a minute’s warning. 3. When you are on the march, act the way you would if you were sneaking up on a deer. See the enemy first. 4. Tell the truth about what you see and what you do. There is an army depending on us for correct information. You can lie all you please when you tell other folks about the rangers, but don’t never lie to a ranger or officer. 5. Don’t never take a chance you don’t have to. 6. When we’re on march we march single file, far enough apart so no one shot can go through two men. 7. If we strike swamps, or soft ground, we spread out abreast, so it’s hard to track us. 8. When we march, we keep moving till dark, so as to give the enemy the least possible chance at us. 9. When we camp, half the party stays awake while the other half sleeps. 10. If we take prisoners, we keep ‘em separate till we have time to examine them, so they can’t cook up a story between ‘em. 11. Don’t ever march home the same way. Take a different route so you won’t be ambushed. 12. No matter whether we travel in big parties or little ones, each party has to keep a scout 20 yards ahead, 20 yards on each flank, and 20 yards in the rear, so the main body can’t be surprised and wiped out. 13. Every night you’ll be told where to meet if surrounded by a superior force. 14. Don’t sit down to eat without posting sentries. 15. Don’t sleep beyond dawn. Dawn’s when the French and Indians attack. 16. Don’t cross a river at a regular ford. 17. If somebody’s trailing you, make a circle, come back onto your own tracks, and ambush the folks that aim to ambush you. 18. Don’t stand up when the enemy’s coming against you. Kneel down, lie down, hide behind a tree. 19. Let the enemy come till he’s almost close enough to touch. Then let him have it and jump out and finish him up with your hatchet. REVISED FROM MAJOR ROBERT ROGERS' "28 RULES OF RANGING",c. 1789

not everyone knows about that and that doesn't make them morons. chill out.
yeah this is true, I dunno why I worded that so coarsely, I guess I was referring to a narrower demographic of people I know of who should know, or in fact do, but call things fake anyway and it gets on my nerves I wouldn't expect someone who doesn't involve themselves with that sort of thing to know better and that obviously doesn't make them moronic

This guy makes some fucking fantastic orchestral adaptations of general video game music, he did a huge set for Super metroid - but one that he's recently done that is really interesting is System Shock 2's Engineering song
