Was that the one down near portsmouth/southampton kind of area in the UK? I was down in portsmouth when that happened, didn't get to see anything though.
Tried my hand at some star photography a few days ago. Really pleased with my results.

Did you trip over as you took the second one?
Did you trip over as you took the second one?
It's a long exposure, so as the stars move across the sky, it creates long streaks of light
That second one is one of the best of its kind that I've seen.
That first one is really nice. What camera you got?
I take it it was taken on a very calm night? The trees are nice and crisp.

It was incredibly still and silent. There wasn't any noise other than myself breathing.

It was boosted a tiny bit, sharpened and I turned down the shadows, but other than that it's mostly out of the camera.
It was taken at a skiing lake near a tiny town of about 50 people called Frankland river in Western Australia.
I gotta get myself one of those 11mm lenses. Cus it looks amazing.

Easily one of the best purchases I've ever made. Doesn't break the bank either.
Great shots, so clean.
Do you have that second one in a 2560px width? I'd love to make that the first background for my new PC when it's built.

I wish I had glass fast enough, and an area that you could actually see stars from to take pictures like this.
Did another fairly successful astrophotography session. When its clear again I will try to get better exposures and hopefully I will image C/2014 Q2 (Lovejoy)

There's not enough "War" in the Star Wars. I understand movie-wise why that wouldn't work, but why not a comic at least?

Did another exposure of orion, and finally got my tracking issues resolved, although not before I was really cold and the orion nebula had dipped behind some trees.
Stacked the two good ones out of 40 exposures.
