I do get that, "ten minutes" is an exaggeration. But on the other hand, depending on the scene and setting of the fight, there's often no good reason why there shouldn't be a better fight. Particularly if it's martial arts based with no special effects or environmental interaction.
Like, if it's two guys having a fistfight on a flat plane with no particularly interesting environment or fight gimmick and your fight sucks that's something you could have done something about.
Well if they don't have any martial arts or stunts experience at all it's gonna be shit and there's not much you can do about it. Jackie developed his style for 18 years before showing it off in New Police Story.
Speaking of good choreography and martial arts, you guys should watch The Raid and The Raid 2 if you haven't already. Best action movies I've ever seen.

The animator makes momentum and movement look really good or natural, but pacing and the choreography itself are so bad that these are a bother to look at. The reason for that is how all characters are completely "synchronized" with each other. Their moves wouldn't make sense unless they knew constantly what each of them were going to do next, and considering they do know, the moves don't make sense for combat. As if it's a rehearsed dance instead of a combat. This also ties into the issue of pacing because none of the characters ever take time for the opponent to make a move, just constantly go at it which is not what it'd be like if they were actually trying to take each other out.
you forgot

Just put some lounge jazz to them and they're perfect.

The last frame transmitted by WPIX 11's television transmitter and satellite link installed on the roof of The South Tower. You can just make out the second plane as it exploded inside the building, destroying the infrastructure connections and trapping the station's lead engineer, Steve Jacobson, on the roof. The single frame remained frozen on the screen until WPIX was able to setup an alternate microwave connection to another transmitter hours later.
No 747's were involved in 9/11. I don't know why this is a common mistake. Everyone knows a 747 is the large 4 engine double decker jumbo jet. It irks me when I see someone make such an avoidable mistake with such a historical event as 9/11. Would take 5 seconds of fact checking.

747 is the only "big airplane" I know of.
747 is the only "big airplane" I know of.
The Triple 7 is comparable in size, and the 767 is pretty large. The A380 has a full second deck, and is much bigger than the 747.

Never heard of them.
I don't know anything about airplanes. 747s are so famous, it's literally the only one I've heard of. And I honestly could not tell you what is and is not a 747 by sight, even.
And I'm sure there's plenty of people like me out there and put "9/11 had big planes" + "Only big plane I know by name is 747" = "747 hit twin towers"

Y'know, I always knew the 777 was pretty big, but I never paid attention to how big it actually is.

I always like to think of it as an upscaled 737 :v:.

I would've thought most people at least knew about the A380 as well after all the hubbub it caused in 2005, but to each his own.

Bringing back up fight scenes, here's some examples of great choreographed fights:

John Wick: This one is great is because it gets close quarter gun use so right and makes it super satisfying. The camera wants you to see the choreography, how expertly Wick handles himself in this 1 vs 12 situation. The way he double taps each enemy to make sure they're down for good, the accurate bullet count before he reloads, a lot of incredible attention to detail here.

Star Wars Ep1: The movie is bad, but this fight is good. You can pick and pry at the overswinging and strikes that should miss, but the important thing here is the emotion and how the fight stays exciting, even though its 6 straight minutes of saber combat. I really like the part immediately after Qui Gon is defeated, the complete paradigm shift in Obi Wan from nervous Padawan helping his Master to angry and reckless avenger. You can really feel it in how he goes at Maul.

I didn't care for the saber fights in the prequels. I wanted to see a clashing of lightsabers, not two men dancing around each other. While visually it's great, it's not the type of fight I wanted to see.
This is a Sea Sapphire! And when it doesn’t look amazing it’s invisible!
This is a type of crustacean called a copepod. It’s back is covered in guanine crystals. If it weren’t for these crystals the Sea Sapphire would be transparent, but these crystals are spaced in such a way that they strongly reflect certain colours of light. The colour of the light that’s reflected is dependent on the angle that it comes in.
Usually, it reflects blue light, but when the light hits the Sea Sapphire at 45 degrees, the reflected light shifts into the ultraviolet. And since we can’t see that it becomes invisible!
