Y'know, I always knew the 777 was pretty big, but I never paid attention to how big it actually is. I always like to think of it as an upscaled 737 :v:. [editline]28th July 2015[/editline] I would've thought most people at least knew about the A380 as well after all the hubbub it caused in 2005, but to each his own.
That's also only the 200. 777-300 is a lot more common, and is about 30 ft longer.

Someone on FP (I forgot who exactlyt) drew a really nice HL1 concept art picture. I've had it saved for a long time and thought it'd be nice to share it
Damn that's not bad.
That looks like Nissans contribution to Le Mans 2014 which was a huge flop. Nissan Deltawing *DeltaWing Pics*
IIRC the majority of the issues the DeltaWing has run into regarding its competitiveness are 1) reliability and 2) bad luck. The design itself shows promising performance for something so new to road racing, especially endurance racing. The mechanical reliability is just tied to the manufacturing competence of the team behind the car, and the fix to the team's bad luck is to stay away from the Porsches on track. Maybe in ten years everything on course will look like the DeltaWing, who knows? On a related note Nissan has recently gotten itself tied up in a wacko, front-wheel drive LMP1 car. Again the design shows promise but seems to be falling short of expectations this year.
It's the convoluted fucking hybrid system they have. It's poorly designed and insanely inefficient. It gave them almost none of the power they were expecting. So basically they had to rely on the gutless (compared to the other cars) engine to haul the unwieldy beast though the race. Basically, Nissan discovered twice why no one was using this designs.

My father has been testing this new lens he purchased for his special camera and he took an image of the Moon. 1980x1320 [t]http://i.imgur.com/Kgyqddg.jpg[/t]
The moon is so fucking beautiful. [sp]Can't wait untill we hollow it out and build an enormous base/city/weapon inside it or untill we turn the whole thing into a weapon.[/sp]

I also photographed the moon some years back, but this was on a very cold day and the conditions were perfect: Canon 600D, Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 Bonus picture with Jupiter in the top left corner, you can faintly see its stripes (click for big)
What camera and what lens did your father use?
Canon EOS 5D Mk.III with a Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 SP Di VC USD lens.
Canon EOS 5D Mk.III with a Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 SP Di VC USD lens.
Jealousy! I really wanted a 5D MK3, but I ended up going with the 6D (aka 5D lite) Has the same sensor for nearly half the price, but lacks a lot of the other cool features. The reason my photo is zoomier even when your dad has a 600mm lens and I have a 500mm one was that I used a Canon 600D (before I got the 6D), which is a crop format camera that has a smaller sensor. The sensor is smaller by a factor of 1.6, and this actually made my 500mm effectively an 800mm lens because 500 * 1.6 = 800 (could go more in-depth about this but you can read up on it if you're interested) And it would seem I was luckier with the shooting conditions as well. Cold clear nights are preferred. I don't know how good that Tamron lens actually is, but I think I've heard some reviewers being surprised by how well it performs compared to its price.
So, the Tall Ships Race has ended yesterday, and Aalborg is the final stop. Four days of big ol' boats, and a big firework show Monday night. That's really cool. We have a tallship named Elissa here that's an original iron hull from 1877. Most of the wood has been replaced over the years but it's still technically the same ship. She still sails and you can volunteer to crew her. I've been tempted to have a go at it. [editline]1st August 2015[/editline] They say it's one of the oldest still sea worthy tallships left in the world.
If it wasn't for my piece of shit foot/ankle, i would totally have gone for a trip on one.

Bridge cams are generally shite but have a huge optical zoom so people go 'WOW! I should buy that, that's amazing!', then they realize they often either have really shitty noise/low-light performance, shitty autofocus, or just shitty image quality overall. Getting a second hand DSLR is way better than getting a bridgecam
