Brutalist architecture was a mistake, we should trash them all:

looking at this building makes me feel physically sick
Speaking of brutalism

Not the best picture, but it's my favorite building on the DePaul University campus.
I think Brutalist architecture aged poorly.

Is the dallas city hall brutalist?

The US Government was very hesitant about releasing the information of the Sullivan brothers to the public, because they feared massive reprisals against German Americans much like those in the Great War (Businesses getting roughed up, dauchshunds being drowned, harassment, etc.)
....i mean the Japanese Americans got treated A-Okay in that regard but still
I thought they were hesitant about releasing the information because it could reveal to the enemy where a ship was sunk and possible fleet movements?

Well it's Texas, so...
"Hey you know what would be a good look for our city? An underfunded and cultureless dystopian hellscape filled with bleak angular unfurnished concrete monoliths superimposed without any contrasting green-space."
It doesn't look good unless you straight up like looking at ugly shit all day. If you think it looks good, really imagine what an entire city made of those buildings would look like and tell me it doesn't look like an unfinished gmod map.
[t]https://i.imgur.com/GRF7Afr.jpg[/t]
How can you possibly say this looks bad? I don't get it.
[t]https://i.imgur.com/GRF7Afr.jpg[/t]
Reminds me of a Gmod RP map, or just a Gmod map...

Might do a few places some good, like ones prone to flooding, fires, or tornadoes.
Reminds me of a Gmod RP map, or just a Gmod map...
I thought it was an Unreal 4 render for a split second :v:.

This whole building in Galveston is on stilts. Very flood and hurricane prone area.

Not super brutalist, but still sort of.
spent freshman year at a campus built exclusively in brutalist architecture, lived in a brutalist dorm, shat in brutalist bathrooms, ate in brutalist dining halls, transferred because of brutalism
Some of these building don't strike me as particularly "brutalist", just towers made out of concrete and look not that much different from steel ones.

Why unreal 4 exactly?

There's this one here in Argentina. It's really amazing to walk down the street with such a building nearby.
Where I used to like in England, Barclays have this building right by the town centre. I always thought it was pretty badass.

where's it at?
Some of my favorite photos by Saul Leiter, arguably the earliest color street photographer. He was originally a painter, and I think it really shows. Super cool dude, I recommend watching his documentary In No Great Hurry.
Why unreal 4 exactly?
Mostly because of the way the light's reflecting off the concrete. It's got that semi-gloss feel Unreal Engine renders have IMO.

Torre Velasca
This car park near me is apparently brutalist. They're demolishing it now.

They're replacing it with this sort of stuff though so I'm not really complaining.

If you scroll up and down while fix your eyes in the middle, it's like the wall is bending itself.
pure brutalism is depressing. high-rises with absolutely no colour, shitty looking carparks that look unfinished. it's all so bleak
