And this, is why I won't even think about getting married.
[sp]Hint is in user flag[/sp]
It's really just a matter of finding the right person and both agreeing to do it and not "we've been together for 4 years, I guess that's the next step" type of deal.
Divorce rates shown as a percentage of marriages ending in divorce aren't always as they seem because people who divorce are more likely to divorce in subsequent marriages, yet percentages like these don't factor things like this out.

So a graphic for "first marriages ending in divorce" would be more informative in some regards.
I know you guys have a love/hate relationship with Simon Stalenhag but his new stuff is really fucking neat, adding couples to it added some cool emotions to it:

I'm guessing the abnormally low rate in Ireland is down to the fairly strict religion? Or is Ireland just a really romantic place or something?
I'm guessing the abnormally low rate in Ireland is down to the fairly strict religion? Or is Ireland just a really romantic place or something?
I wouldn't put it down to religious, the idea that Ireland is a highly religious conservative place is mostly incredibly out dated. I'd say It's more of a cultural thing, couples in Ireland spend a long time together before they pop the question. That and things like affairs are heavily frowned upon, most people unofficially consider it a criminal act.

Ireland had an overwhelmingly pro-homosexual vote for legalizing gay marriage, I doubt it's due to religious causes.
Our population is actually quite young, and we're a very liberal nation.
Although still very agrarian.

He might be talking about the people who keep seeing others posting the artwork that they've already seen plenty of times before in this thread.

His stuff gets kinda samey to be honest. Mundane scene in foreground+sci-fi scene in background = 90% of his work.
Anyways, I think it would be really neat if Simon were to work for an animation studio and paint backdrops for shots in a theoretical animated film. His paintings kinda remind me of the painted realistic-looking backdrops that's used in those old anime films.

I must admit, I thought it probably wasn't the religion thing either, I was just curious as to why it's so different compared even to its neighbours. I mean, from an external perspective the Irish attitude towards trans people for instance is even more liberal than the UK equivalent, so I knew it's not that conservative any more.
It's really just a matter of finding the right person and both agreeing to do it and not "we've been together for 4 years, I guess that's the next step" type of deal.
Now, I may be bias, but from the amount of couchsurfers I've hosted, (which are largely Caucasian Europeans and some Americans) alot of them come from broken families.
Asian families, it's much rarer to see that happening. That doesn't mean we don't have problems, usually couples with problems don't divorce out of shame and guilt, and cases where this persists, sometimes end in murder or suicides.
But, I must say, there is a alarming amount of divorces I've came across. And the worst is, when the surfers tell me about how they have single parents, they don't seem concerned or bothered.

Honestly, that's what I really enjoy about his work. It's not mundane, it's realistic. I feel like every scene is something I could actually see in reality, as opposed to other artists who go balls to the walls. I enjoy both, but there's something about the frank realism that appeals to me. Reminds me of the environments in Half-Life 2.

Ireland isn't really helping the stereotype there, is it? Hardly a potato to be seen.

They're left for fermentation rather than consumption.

It's all hidden under the rainbow. A tiny green leprechaun smugly drinking a pint of Guinness will be holding a red potato in his hand. He will then proceed to smash you in the face with a shillelagh and be yelling in your face "CONAS A TA TÚ?" as he beats you to death.
An aerial view of a field called the “New Jungle,” with tents and makeshift shelters where migrants and asylum-seekers stay, is seen in Calais, France, in this picture taken on October 1, 2015. The number of migrants in the Calais camp on France's north coast has doubled to close to 6,000 people, the prefect for the region said on October 16, 2015. Migrants fleeing war and poverty in Africa and the Middle East are camped on the French side of the tunnel in Calais, trying to board vehicles heading for Britain via the tunnel and on ferries or by walking through the tunnel, even though security measures aimed at keeping them out have been stepped up. #
