I want more snowy games.
A cartoony parody of the modern west Like the first two Mother games
A massive neon metropolis, like Kane & Lynch 2, but more in the future.
What no Leisure Suit Larry?
Dystopian setting on an eastern european bloc. (Half-Life 2)
I like fantasy settings. More so grim ones without much if any magic, and humans as the only sentient race. Even better if its based in a whole different world, and with the humans being very broken up and war torn. Perfectly fine with small amounts of mythical beasts too. A lot like the Game of Thrones universe now that I think about it.
I like games with a wild west feel to them; not yee-haw, horses and revolvers west, but the feeling that it's more barren and rough with only small patches of civilization here and there. A lot of Samurai Jack episodes had this kind of atmosphere, which is amazing. I loved Borderlands 1's atmosphere because it was basically this. I also like 80's style dark sci-fi, like Aliens or Blade Runner. 80's sci fi has its own feeling, and I can never put my finger on what it is.
Post apoc like Tiberian Sun Ooh and the Killzone series, I love the alternate history, dark sci-fi story.
I have a hard time choosing between Cyberpunk and Art Decoish settings. While I like the neon colors and themes of futurism present in most Cyberpunk settings, I always love seeing huge Art Deco buildings. World War II
Artsy renaissance cyberpunk world where guns aren't needed due to high/alien/grim diversity of fantasy, would be my perfect setting. So Dues Ex art style, Elder Scrolls open world, Mount and Blade combat, recruitment and political systems, and Dark Souls for the grim, and interesting lore and the learning curve and gameplay styling.
Dystopian retro futuristic themes from the 80's
Mostly rebuilt but still Post-Apocalyptic is my favourite. Problem is that the only movies/games that i've seen actually do this setting are Fallout 2 and New Vegas.
Cyberpunk with space travel.
sadly there are nearly no games based on this.
Yes there's a game based on this, you have the concept art from it posted right up there. Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

Shiny, colorful science fiction. Like Mass Effect 2.
I prefer an 80s Miami setting.
Obviously you're referring to hotline miami, but I'd like to chime in that it was the presentation, moreso than the setting, that really made that game what it was (and it was fantastic)
