• Have you ever pre-ordered a video game?

Since some video games come out in other countries or times zones, I usually wait until people in those countries or time zones post whether or not the game works, then I preorder it a few hours before it comes out.
Company of Heroes 2
I pre-ordered once: BRINK. Then I stopped pre-ordering games because I finally understood that no amount of hype could ever justify a purchase until I see the product itself. Lesson learned.
Pre-ordered 3 games ever: MW2 - Only for the NVGs. I didn't know where else to buy them, and hey, they actually work. As for the game? Never forget 11/10/2009. Deus Ex HR - Was not disappointed with content. However, there is no replay value in that game outside of the story. There aren't any "alternate levels" anywhere, and the endings are buttons. Dead Island - The time I did this is when the previews promised something awesome. What happened was actually quite mediocre, and as a result, I didn't pick up my order until 2 weeks later. What a fucking waste of cash. Moral of story: Never pre-order unless it's from a developer ACTUALLY outside of the USA. Deus Ex works because it was made by Eidos Montreal.
I pre ordered Battlefield 3, Black Ops 2, and Playstaion Move when it came out (Only used it once). Those are the only things I think I've ever pre ordered. From my experience you can just as easily walk into a store and buy a game on release date without any problems so pre-ordering seems kind of useless to me.
No i usually wait to see what kind of responses the game receives before i buy it.
I pretty much only preorder if I really want it and there's a limited/collector's edition. Last game I preordered was Ni No Kuni ("Wizard's Edition") and it was worth it.
