I know, I've seen the anime for the first and 3rd one.
What I mean is, I want this Tank Girl Anime to focus more on high school girls blowing the crap out of each other in tanks, not stand around chatting up 20 minutes of air time.
And Valkyria chronicles 2 was set in a school, that's why I compared it.
Hmm, I haven't seen anything like that.

And now I've read the complete manga and watched every episode. It sucks when your favorite show is over.

Nobody can make OP's like SHAFT can.
Jesus.
I finished watching AnoHana yesterday after a friend gave up sync-watching them with me. I then powered through the last 5 episodes in a day, giving myself some time between them.
At the end where [sp]the 5 remaining Super Peace Busters finally realize that they were thinking about themselves the whole time rather than Menma, along with the very end where they wish her off and Menma gathers the strength to wish them all goodbye[/sp] I fucking lost it. I was blabbering like an oaf.
Also, during the credits [sp] does the redhead chick (Anaru I think) finally get together with Jintan like she wanted? I wasn't sure as I was busy sobbing and I saw them together briefly. :\[/sp]
I am now watching Clannad, and I'm at the part where [sp]The main character is helping the physically weak chick (I hate the names :P, can't remember them) with the drama class and he is testing her speech skills. After that, her posters get ripped down by Student Council. Dem feels :P[/sp]
Sorry for immense spoilers. Don't want to make a bad first impression in FAST ANIMU
I've turned into an Otaku, thanks to the VN Katawa Shoujo.

People don't think posting spoilers makes you look dumb, it's stuff like this.

Does it? I thought it was more of a joke than anything. The Katawa Shoujo thread kind of makes fun of it. :p

the smell of marmite is stuck in my nose
I just finished Cowboy Bebop and so far its the best anime series I've seen in my life, better then H.O.T.D and Angel Beats. Can you recommend me other series like it?
better then H.O.T.D
That's actually on your list?
Well, it is better, but why mention that pile anyway
4 episodes into Angel Beats and it doesn't really seem that great. Does it get a lot better as it goes on?
4 episodes into Angel Beats and it doesn't really seem that great. Does it get a lot better as it goes on?
Worse.
But it has nice music and visuals. Last episode is the only one worth watching.
Finished Mushishi.
Love shows like these, relaxed and laid back but still filled with content and personality. There is no morales being pushed, what happens happens and that's all there is to it. Like Kino no Tabi the main character doesn't favor one over the other or think that one thing is necessarily more right than another, if someone has to die, someone has to die, he just prefers solutions where neither have to.
The universe it's set in and the idea of mushi is simply brilliant, it works really well and creates for lots of interesting situations, thoughts and ways to expose human psychology to some extent. Lots of human behavior and dilemmas at the very least.
The only negative thing about the show is the oddly modern knowledge about natural phenomenons and diseases as well as technological advancement in terms of microscopes and such, despite not having any modern technology (the microscope is made out of wood and glass). Then there is the whole thing where the same voice actors are re-used time and time again, it's not that it doesn't work, but it is quite irritating at times, and all the characters have the same face for the most part, which really doesn't work well when several of those samey characters also have the same voice actor.
But other than that I loved it. It brought me to tears several times, really impactful and great.
Another thing I like with shows like Mushishi and Kino no Tabi is that the main character isn't a superhero in any way, they may have more knowledge than your average joe and do have a goddamn bigger portion of luck in tricky situations. But they're very down to earth, they're just as easy to trick as anyone else, they're not superior and can easily be bossed around with and dragged against their own will. They have no higher status or powers that allows them to help others in certain situations. Sometimes people might die because the main character couldn't help them. It's beautiful because it's real.
10/10 - Everyone should have watched it at some point in their lives.

It gets better, but not a lot. But the final episode is actually good unlike the other episodes.
i have yet to finish mushishi, i started on it like a year and a half ago and watched about 14 episodes i think
I watched like 4 and have yet to resume
[editline]18th May 2012[/editline]
I love the atmosphere and the general idea but I'm a sucker for long story arcs rather than "monster of the week" stuff.
It was a fantastic show
Watching Outlaw Star. Episode premise is that there is a tourist planet with hot springs.
"Oh a fanservice episode."

Kinda funny how Katawa Shoujo is american (it's also massively overrated) and you have not turned into a "Otaku" because you watch anime.
[editline]18th May 2012[/editline]
This is an "Otaku"

ffs just say weaboo otaku sounds retareded
(My point of view)
Otaku (English, not the Japanese, since AFAIK Japanese Otaku is something like a geek?) = Some guy who is obsessed with anime, manga, japanese games and similar.
Weeaboo (wapanese is a lot easier to spell) = Some guy who loves EVERYTHING Japanese, wants to be Japanese, wants to live in Japan etc. (and mostly some person who hasn't researched a lot about Japan, and who hasn't been there himself)
Is it me or is the quality of the animation in Planetes really patchy? At some times it looks really nice, at others Yuri gets a wierd fish mouth or Hachimaki randomly gets two lazy eyes.

The word Otaku makes me cringe. It sounds so stupid, and people mostly use it in a way that makes it seem they only said it to say something japanese. I don't like it.
