Well guys, my internet's going to be shut off soon so I won't be able to look up any new aniems. Can someone recommend me some good aniems to watch while I have no internet? Mainly looking for something a bit serious.
How's High School of the Dead?

It's ok, it's 80 percent fan service though.
it's bad terrible
Hello people. Since this is seems to be a mostly informal thread, I won't bother with pleasantries.
I'm lacking in the anime department. Terribly. Any suggestions? The only anime I've seen is Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist. I liked Death Note's serious tone and FMA's darker segments. I've also watched a couple of Cowboy Bebop episodes with my brother, and I liked it for its setting.
FMA: Brotherhood
Stein's gate.

Check out the OP, some good suggestions there.

The music is amazing in that show, second to Samurai Champloo.

It's also pretty bad fanservice
is there anything close to code geass?
Some people say it's a bit like Guilty Crown

What aspect?
Length of the series, same style of animation, and or similar story. Maybe not in terms of story, but y'know, something with big ol' robots. I've already seen that other show- it had that guy pretending to be a highschool student or whateverthehell to protect this girl.
If you want a show with similarities; Death Note's main character is more or less who they based Lelouch upon.
It doesn't exactly have robots or the like, but it's quite similar in that it's a genius high-schooler with a super-power who (at least originally) attempts to change the world for the better while trying keeping his identity a secret.
I don't exactly want to watch deathnote, is there anything similar to Full Metal Panic, or code geass? I've watched GL aswell, looking for a new mecha show.
martian successor nadesico

while not being a show about a genius tactician with shitty to cunning plans, it has a lot of fun with the mecha genre by picking apart plenty of mecha anime tropes, and through that, manages to have a nice balance between comedy, drama, and action

Gundam 00 is a pretty good serious mecha if you haven't watched that yet
I finished both seasons of Wakfu. Good show, 9/10, would recommend.
But oh lord, all that French takes some getting used to.
It was the first show in a while that I was sad about finishing, the previous being Stein's Gate.
I don't think I'll ever watch Wakfu, because whenever I hear french I hear the language of rude people

I tried watching it but it confused me because I'm used to hearing japanese when I read subs

I got that feeling on the two first shows I watched. Then I've only experienced it one or two times in later years, but I don't remember which show they were.
I've only really felt that way about Mirai Nikki [sp]cuz the ending sucked horse shit[/sp] and TTGL

Can't wait for the last episode of Tsuritama. Rewatched the series while waiting.

Don't think I ever had that with Japanese with subtitles. Not that I remember anyway, though the first series I watched was Wolf's Rain, and I only got to episode 14, so I guess I really wouldn't remember my experience with it.
But I got that feeling when watching The Tibetan Dog, since it was in Chinese. Wasn't used to not recognising words every now and then.
And I still feel like the only one here who wasn't really impressed by Steins;Gate. Had some great moments, but overall it hasn't left much of an impression. But with how so many people love it, I'd still recommend it to people.
Although knowing me, it was probably just because it wasn't shiny or colourful enough, me being kind of shallow about anime in that way.
I watched steins gate on my S3 (which has amazing resolution btw, 1280x720, so it was loss-less quality), and it was really good, as I expected it to be after all the praise it got in this thread while it was airing.
I think the part that I liked the most was the characters, there wasn't one I didn't love, and the ones I liked the most where [del]Okabe[/del] Hououin and [del]Kurisu[/del] Christina, which had a lot of screen time. It was also well written, and had a new take on the entire "time-travel" genre (not really a genre, but I can't find a better word).
And as a fellow VN enthusiast I will probably play trough the game aswell.
Why would you watch series/movies on your phone in the first place?
