Getting gold isn't gonna earn you respect. People who live with this mndset are more dissapointed when they get gold. I just got it because it has a lot of features I enjoy, such as search, viewing started threads and previous posts and ofc the glorious 80x80 avatar. And you're still gonna get looked down upon if you're an idiot. Even more so if you're gold, since it's expected of you not to be a cockmongler. I personally also frown slightly on boostars who have less the 1k posts, but that's just me.

OP don't listen to everyone here, they are just not showing respect because this is a normal forum, once you get gold and post in the GMF you'll be one with your kind. It won't take it.

There are three valid reasons to buy Gold. The first is for the avatar. 80x80 and animation without APNG, yo. The second is to support the forums through your pennies. The third is buying it for somebody else as a sign of respect/wanting to do something nice for someone. If you're buying it because you think it'll raise your social status then you're doing it wrong. In fact, people who buy gold are even more harshly judged for the first couple of months.

I don't remember, but do they not charge tax? If so, $10 exactly wouldn't be enough. I don't remember being charged tax for my title, though. I was gifted gold, so I'm not sure about that.
