i never understood why the female/male armor were so different.
Boobs.
i never understood why the female/male armor were so different.
It's a widely known fact that in Monster Hunter, the average woman's thighs are impervious to all damage and thus they don't require pants.
i never understood why the female/male armor were so different.
Aesthetically kawaii
i never understood why the female/male armor were so different.
I'm still annoyed how ffxiv did this, coming from ffxi where armor was armor no matter what gender you were.
Well, the title has fiction in it so hopefully these count, too, although they are mostly just regular military uniforms. Hey, I just love a good old uniform sometimes.
It's a shame it needs so many fucking bumblepumpkins.
It's even worse that by the time you can easily get that many from Wycoon, the armor is obsolete and there's no G-rank version.
Boobs.
I get that. Thing is, the rest of the fem armors still try to have some degree of functionality that reflects the attributes they have while still being femenine, but that one doesnt even try, wich is rather odd for a game where you can use armors as a purely cosmetic ítem.
Titanfall had a lot of good futuristic and modern military mixes: [t]http://www.itsartmag.com/features/itsart/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/titanfall-81.jpg[/t] [t]http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/157/a/6/mcor_grunts_at_by_thepwa-d7l8jhl.jpg[/t] Mostly the militia side though
I liked IMC designs more.
Everyone gives all the love to Boba: I've always been more of a Jango fan, even though the movie he comes from is atrocious.

Why not just strap the guns you need directly on to the arms of the mech or the mech itself and be done with it. Case in point. Most of the iconic ones are licensed from or knockoffs of Japanese properties. The Wildcat is just a Zentraedi battle pod from Macross, the Atlas is a bootleg Scopedog, and there's a whole bunch of Dougram designs running around. Realism is just an aesthetic anyway. To keep this on topic, the director of Armoured Trooper Votoms once said that the smallest a mecha can get before it stops being a mecha and starts being power armour is four metres. Most western mechs look like they'd fall on their asses and never get back up after clunking around at the speed of slow. There's more Japanese mecha than just the ones literally designed to be toys from the eighties. If I started listing good examples I'd be here all day. I'll take something with personality over something trying to show me its grit boner any day. The main difference between "heavily armoured" mechs and supposedly plastic-like Japanese mecha seems to be how much detail you put into your rusty metal. Let's look at the Atlas and the Scopedog, which it [del]blatantly copied from[/del]drew apparent inspiration from. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ldysSRk.jpg[/t] Now let's pick another example. Very bulky, heavily armoured. It's just that somebody put some red paint on it and didn't greeble it up. [t]http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/gundam/images/4/4d/Rx-77d.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20121104124730[/t][t]http://www.gunjap.net/site/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/RX77D-01.jpg[/t] And so we reach example example A, blatant disregard for the concept of streamlined design. It looks heavy, it feels heavy, it's good at presenting itself as such but at the end of the day the main difference is the effort put into making it look gritty. [t]http://gamequiche.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/titanfall_battletech_atlas.jpg[/t] the point is both are fine and i'll just be over here being buttblasted and trying to remember what it was that had that one set of power armour i really liked is from
Skyrim steel plate. The swirling engravings, the helmet that you can only see out of, the boots made for arse kicking, and my favorite part... [t]http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121023003244/elderscrolls/images/f/fa/Steel_Plate_Gauntlets.png[/t] The stud-knuckled made-for-punching gauntlets.
It's from 2011 btw. Always liked it, because it looks more sleek than the current designs. I'm pretty sure it was from fan art wall at Valve.
Shhh! That is a valid point. But why are their hands so human like and brittle-looking then? Why not have a big meaty fist or a claw instead? Like Dreadnoughts fx.
That's a valid point but why not give them a way to traverse every kind of terrain without being vulnerable to a light push making them fall over and unable to get up, like tank tracks! And why not just get rid of the arms all together and just mount the gun on top of the body?
That's a valid point but why not give them a way to traverse every kind of terrain without being vulnerable to a light push making them fall over and unable to get up, like tank tracks! And why not just get rid of the arms all together and just mount the gun on top of the body?
I've got it, the perfect concept for a realistic armoured war machine that takes all of the criticisms and shortcomings of humanoid or bipedal mecha into account! Let me just try to visualise it [t]http://pngimg.com/upload/tank_PNG1320.png[/t] yeah it turns out we use tanks for a reason and humanoid mecha are stuck in the realm of fiction for some strange reason All mecha are inherently wildly impractical and unrealistic so accusing one or the other of impracticality breaking believability is silly. [del]unless it's western mech design which is terrible and you should feel bad for liking[/del] Just find examples of both that you like. [editline]29th April 2015[/editline] To get back on point to armour design, I can't pick any good examples since I haven't played a Fire Emblem game in many a year, but I'm a sucker for the clean armour designs in pre-Awakening Fire Emblem games, whether it be the heavy knights or the guys who just wear a breastplate and some pauldrons.
That's a valid point but why not give them a way to traverse every kind of terrain without being vulnerable to a light push making them fall over and unable to get up, like tank tracks!
