• Which posters could be good mods?

Pretty much all of the mods are pretty competent. Sometimes they can be corrupt or inept, but that's to be expected in any organization to be honest. There are various cliques and factions bubbling away and some gravitate towards other sides or another and that's pretty much to be expected. It keeps Facepunch the way it is. Active and full of people who disagree with each other (and tolerate each other to an extent), although not to the degree that people are consistently flaming each other and generally spamming and making a mess. At the very least, most of the moderator choices have been good ones and have kept this place interesting and alive for nearly 9 years.
ROFLBURGER
wow
there's literally no way to tell and you're all just nominating people you think are nice which is ridiculous
Sociopaths make the best leaders. We should find those.

PlayRustBot
sobotnik 4 mod 2014
I don't even know why some people suggested me as a mod.
Nobody but our true and almighty God Garry should have such powers.
Sociopaths make the best leaders. We should find those.
where are we supposed to find one of those on FP?!
where are we supposed to find one of those on FP?!
don't you mean "where can we not find one of those on FP"
me ofc i'd perma every person with anime/mlp/furry/whatever avatars or titles
hezzy [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] or firerain
AKz would also be a really decent mod, he's a pretty mature poster and has been around for a long time.
Moustacheman I could see being a good mod.
I don't really have the time in the day to act as a moderator. That and my ban history is far from spotless.
me ofc i'd perma every person with anime/mlp/furry/whatever avatars or titles
so... pretty much the entire forum?
I think Rusty100 would make a good mod. Jk that would be fucking awful.
OvB is one of my favorite posters, I think he'd do well as a mod. Emperor Scorpious too.
I actually think I would do a decent job, but it probably takes some kind of dedication that I don't have. Aspen would be pretty good I think.
It's pretty funny how people are recommending themselves. Being popular != being a good mod. I, for one, would make a terrible mod. [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] To be a good mod, you'd have to know when to enforce the rules and what exactly provokes a ban. It would be much more difficult than it sounds.

Aside from pressure to do their job, they haven't seen what can be let go yet so they tend to ban way more than more experienced mods.
That and my ban history is far from spotless.
Didn't Craptasket get permabanned like 10 times before he became a mod?

Shock images, balls on the wall [del]retardness for lack of a better word[/del] silliness, and worse. Got to hand it to the current mods for putting up with that. So next time you see Craptasket or Postal, give them a box of assorted cookies as a way of saying thanks.
Didn't Craptasket get permabanned like 10 times before he became a mod?
IIRC I heard that moderators are only chosen if they've been banned a few times in order to get an idea of how the system works.
i'm pretty sure anybody who has below a 2010 registration date will ever be accepted into the ring. I'll just leave now.

Being a mod is much more than a fancy coloured name and being ban-happy.
Maybe Baconator, if he promises to never again take part in any discussion about comic books.
roflburger and Big Dumb Ameri

no-one, no-one stands out as mod material. good poster =/= good mod
no-one, no-one stands out as mod material. good poster =/= good mod
How about being a fellow idSoftware fanfag? Mike Tyson 4 mod pls
