Garry invited me over to his house and showed me his site....i gave him a thumbs up :downs:
Used to play Warcraft 3 a ton, met a guy named Captain Jim who has an account on FP. He told me about Garry's Mod and eventually I was directed to the actual Half Life 2 series itself and GMod.
I noticed that most of the addons have threads at Facepunch, then eventually realized that this is garry's official forum
So i signed up. I am actually an 06'er, but forgot what my old account was... :(
I googled "Garrys mod forum"
I lurked in Mods & Addons and Contraptions for a year until I realised there was more to this forum than GMod.
Thanks to gmod i found it

Was looking for some mods a while back so my friend directed me to this website. Honestly I don't know where I'd be without it.
Last summer, after I bought Garrysmod, I was looking around garrysmod.org for a couple of addons and I noticed the "forums" button on the top-left corner where I found this wonderful forum.

While looking for Half-Life 2 mod videos I saw a Rube Goldberg/Domino themed video made with Gmod and was fascinated by it. After playing for a few days I found my way here and joined after lurking for a few weeks.
Teh_Cheese told me about it.

I can't remember.. I remember I lurked all '06 due to not realising how to sign up though.
The fourms button on garrysmod.org I wanted to see where it went, so i chicked it, lurked for about 5 months, and signed up.
Walking down the street one night. It was a dark night; not to say that night isn't dark, but things seemed a little more eerie than usual. Anyways, my house was a few blocks farther down then two more to the right. On the next block there was an alley that leads straight through the block diagonally, directly towards my house. The alley was very slim, only about 8 feet in width, and was EXTREMELY ghastly looking, but it was a shortcut I figured would be worth taking in order to escape the spookiness of outdoors on a night like this. Half way through I saw a figure pass by right in front of the exit of the alley. The dim street light near the exit covered the side of the figure facing me in a blanket of darkness, leaving me with just the sight of its silhouette. I decided to myself that it was just another guy, like me, that was out too late and was trying to get home before the cops fined him for being out past curfew; though the fearful thought of a mugger still tossed and turned in the back of my head. Once I came close enough to the alley's outlet, I poked my head out and looked both ways. No one in sight. I sighed to my self in relief just as I heard the grinding sound a of sneaker connecting with pavement right behind me. I felt the prick of a dagger connecting with my back. "Drop all of your money on the ground, and if you even TRY to turn around - I'll," but before he could finish, my timorous reflexes spun me around to face the scarred, dearth affected, drug addict attempting to harm me. "You stupid mother fucker," he said. My heart raced. "What are you doing Russell?! RUN!" my mind shouted. "Not today," I thought. SO I PUNCHED HIM IN THE FACE
In late 06, some dude told me about it. I just lurked around here for a very long time.
