Boring job that pays well. If it ends up paying really well, that will mean an early retirement. Early retirement means more fun.
I'd rather slave away a couple years at a boring job that pays more, Tbh
plot twist: my dream job is one that pays well
Most "dream jobs" are dreamed from a person's most passionate hobby.
Given that hobbies, especially ones that could result in a job, are usually costly to support,
a well paying job can both get you A) money and B) money to sustain your passionate hobby
Ta-da, both at once
I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks is the minimum amount which qualifies as 'pays well'.
Is it $50k, $75k, $100k, $150k per year or more?

In my opinion, $150k a year means you can basically live anywhere in the US you want if you have good spending habits.

Dream job.
What use is money when you're completely dead inside, stripped of your soul from a job you hate?
That's what I always see in people who chose to get more money instead of having a job they could actually stand. They always had nice things, and said they were happy because of them, but their eyes always said; "I'm a zombie. I only appear alive at a glance."
I can understand having a job you hate just for the money if it was to survive. If that was your only choice. My family and I are living that nightmare right now. But if you actually have the choice... Go for a job that won't kill you from the inside out.

I realise that but it is completely relevant. How much better is better? How much of a salary increase would it take for people to consider sacrificing the opportunity to get up every day motivated and enthused rather than stuck in a job which they will eventually despise?
People think they can put up with a lot and stick at something completely unappealing for a long time to earn more but I'd seriously challenge that - I'm talking a long period of time here, 20 years plus. I'm also specifically talking about the opportunity to chose your vocation in life here.
I earn between $100k and $150k per year but hate my job. I'd love to have a job which would allow me to channel my creativity but instead I find myself stifled. I now can't follow my passion now due to financial / family commitments and personal circumstances.
Views on these things can change quite radically, as mine have, through direct experience. Money was a motivation for me initially but now I think entirely differently. Once you've made a decision to follow the money, it can become extremely difficult to change course.

If your life is so miserable because of your job, it may be best to find a social life outside of work, perhaps?
There's no job that demands 24/7 working hours.

At minimum, a $50k job is paying well because that's enough to pay off bills, possibly afford a mortgage and a home and a car or two.
Which to me as I work 1 part time job at just over minimum wage is essentially a dream job for me, regardless of the work.
I'd rather be doing something that I enjoy doing versus doing something that don't have any interest in. If you do what you like, it doesn't seem like work that much if at all.
I'll always pick the high paying job. I want the best for my family, so...
I want to be a drummer or a bassist in a band that travels around the world. Music comes naturally to me it seems, but the problem is finding people who have similar tastes in music. I would also like to see places outside of the U.S because I've never left. But right now I am getting paid pretty well as a maintenance technician at my apartment complex. So I guess I'll stick with that!
High paying boring job. "Money can't buy happiness" but not having to worry about financial problems certainly results in some form of it. Work is work regardless of the enjoyment gained from it.
Besides: boring. I can do boring. Doesn't necessarily mean difficult.
i'd rather die than spend my life doing a job i don't enjoy tbh
