Is it possible to live on $750 a month without roommate in the New England (North East USA) area?
And after reading the rest of your posts man, you're not going to make it. You're trying to do TOO MUCH with TOO LITTLE.
You're not gonna live a "Stylish and well designed space" on 750 bucks a month.
You'll be spending everything on bills, you'll be lucky to afford a plastic walmart deck chairs.
Plus you're being short sighted. What happens if you have an emergency, you're not going to be able to afford it.
Eh I have free medical, no vehicle, no phone, or any expensive thing that i carry on my person outside, so short of the house burning down I can't imagine needing money for an emergency.
Also actually I will live in a fabulous space because I've been slowly buying and stocking up stuff (furniture, wall art, pillows, lamps, etc) over time. I originally planned to move out this November but blew much of the free money from last year on other things so couldn't buy much and don't really want my place to be barren and empty, so possibly March next year.
I would love to get a job between now and then though! I have no idea what I'd be able to do though.
If I get accepted for low income/disabled housing I will surely be able to afford that. I really hope I get it, it's my dream to have a beautiful place to live.

You're trolling, You can't possibly be serious.
There is no way that your dream is to live alone in a shitty low income project housing thing on nothing more than Rhode Island's TEMPORARY disability insurance program.

Just because I have more simple goals than you seem to have doesn't mean I'm trolling.
Just because I don't have the weird greedy goals you seem to have doesn't mean I'm trolling.
Weird greedy goals? You mean dreams? Aspirations? Damn I'm such a asshole for having future goals past leeching off of welfare.
Weird greedy goals? You mean dreams? Aspirations? Damn I'm such a asshole for having future goals past leeching off of welfare.
Well according to you the only thing you care about is getting as much money as possible. Personally I don't like money so I could not give less of a fuck. All I need in life is to be comfortable and have a nice living space, and maybe a couple friends (and boyfriend/husband of course). I don't need ridiculous excess like you seem to be implying. Having a lot of money doesn't mean having happiness. You can be rich and be miserable or have nothing but yourself and be happy.
I can't find out how to properly word how short sighted, delusional, selfish, douchey, and impossible your objectives are.
Tell me, is this really what you want? an internet boyfriend/husband, literally no spare money, no goals, just yourself alone in a 1 bedroom project apartment, a network connection, and none of it even earned by you?
Stop pulling shit out of your ass.
You're very judgmental you know. None of what you're saying is true, just stupid assumptions.
You know what... whatever. Good luck. If you aren't a troll, then I honestly hope you can find happiness in life but from your posts here and elsewhere, I'm not holding my breath.

If anyone here is a troll, it's you. Look at the nasty bs you're saying about me.
how do you make so little money wtf, a MINIMUM WAGE job would make you more per month than you are making now, don't be so fucking lazy and go out and do something, we all have to work and why you should be an exception
Can you people stop judging me/jumping to conclusions about me?
no, i work 50 hours a week in a warehouse to support myself, why not get a job when you could easily be making more money to live off of, it would be a lot easier for you.
Sorry, had to jump back here for a second since you left this on my profile
You are a real dick. I'm guessing you are some privileged snobby cunt who hates low income people, secretly miserable on the inside and masturbates with a $100 bill dipped in vegetable oil. Probably a 'tea bagger', is your last name "Romney" by any chance?
:v: :v: :v:
You act like it. Insulting me because I am happy with a simple life, insulting people who live in low income housing, insulting poor people in general, acting like poor people are miserable losers and that being poor is shameful, claiming that I am lonely pathetic loser with an internet husubando.
You're just a bad person. And you call me unlikeable?
I'm insulting you because your dream until half a page ago was to leech off of other people through welfare. Simple life is one thing, but forcing others to pay for it for no reason other than you just fucking feel like it is dumb as hell.
I tried to help you and explain why this was a bad idea, you called me a "greedy bastard" in literary technicolor as a response.

Yeah okay, keep trying to backpedal and totally ignore the stupid shit you've said about me.
[editline]24th January 2014[/editline]
Syntax please tell me what exactly is it you think I need so much in life that you think I'm missing out on by wanting to live in a small modest living space?
don't act like everyone is greedier or more privileged than you because you wont get a job

You're missing the point here dude! Small living space is fine, but you're reasoning for moving out is COMPLETELY unknown past "its my dream!"
Your plans for a job? "no plans for a job, but i'd love one for more cash."
Which, by the way, contradicts your "I hate money" half a page prior.
Which means you're moving out for shits and giggles, you don't want a job simply because, and the reason you're going for low income housing is more likely to be because its all you'll ever even dream of being able to afford on $750 a month in temporary disability, and less likely because "its my dream"
jesus christ just get a better job and shut up

Just because I'd like more cash doesn't mean I don't hate money. You need money for food and bills. I can't deny that. I still hate money and think it poisons people.
Actually I've been in apartments in those low income buildings, and I actually liked them. My dad lived in one for a few years and his place was nice, the walls were smooth and clean. The floor/carpet wasn't damaged or ugly. The house was free of pests. The power didn't go out. It had a nice amount of space for 1 person.
Why you can't comprehend that I simply don't want or need a giant house is beyond me.

You hate money and think it poisons people, but you also are saying you want more of it.
So you want more poison...?

You literally told- You-

You- I- What-
It sounds like you are wanting to pay for a coffin.
Good luck with that.
You hate money and think it poisons people, but you also are saying you want more of it.

Are you serious now? No, I don't want 'poison', I want money to exchange it for food and housing. How could you possibly misunderstand this? I'm not a fucking retard. I hate money, but money is needed to live, therefore by extension I need money.
You literally told- You-
You- I- What-
You're here insulting me because I am happy not being wealthy, trying to force me to get a roommate (so I can have extra money), and talking about how miserable you were when you lived in a small place and didn't have much money.
You're literally saying that you aren't happy unless you have money. You're sitting there shitting on the entire low income population implying it's shameful and no joy is to be had while poor.
[editline]24th January 2014[/editline]
I realize you guys don't realize how judgmental and insulting you're being, so I went ahead and clipped out all posts that, to me, come off as judgemental or simply insults, and then followed it with my interpretation in quotes. I'm hoping this will inspire you to take a closer look at your own posts.
You sound socially retarded and generally unpleasant to be honest

What you describe is no life, its purely existing. I mean, I had a roommate who's a total bro, so it wasn't all bad... but you won't even have that. You gotta... you gotta do more than that.
please don't tell me your future plans involve moving out to a tiny, low income rectangle, living alone, floating on disability and food stamps and... thats it.
"Living in a modest place is not a life, just 'purely existing'. Also, allow me to make the assumption that because you only described a few specific things that it means those are the only things you will do ever"

"You are abnormal and sick. You must go out with friends and drink and go to restaurants and unless it involves buying things and spending money it's not worth doing! Also, you don't want a roommate therefore you are paranoid and can't take care of yourself."
Okay. Fine.
You seem so against having any employment, help, companionship, or social life whatsoever, you're going to be fucked and broke and miserable.
I'll bet though that you tried to find a roommate and failed because people look at you and their shit-roommate-o-meters went off the fucking charts.
"I realize you never said this, and I know nothing about you, but please allow me to pretend I know everything about you: you are antisocial, a loser, and if you don't live the life I want you to you will be miserable. You're not going to be able to fucking live well/at all on 750 dollars unless if you live in a slum, very shitty apartment, or cut almost all utilities excluding gas and water, and you would have to ration them. Listen to yourself. Buddy, I don't want to say I know what is right for you but you are going to have to hedge your bets on a room mate if you want an apartment with an HDI above .8! It's just not safe for you to try and live like that. Hypothetically if you just lived on instant noodle, bread, and maybe occasionally meat, you're going to be malnourished. What is your caloric intake?

Why is this being brought up? I thought I posted already on the first page that I found an option that could work for me.
Why is this being brought up? I thought I posted already on the first page that I found an option that could work for me.
I'm aware, it's just that your quality of life is going to be pretty bad.
I'm aware, it's just that your quality of life is going to be pretty bad.
Everybody keeps saying this. But I just do not comprehend. Can you simplify this and explain why my quality of life would be bad? People keep saying the ominous "your quality of life will be bad" but what do you even mean by this?
If I have:
- a roof over my head
- heat
- hot water
- stove/oven to prepare food
- a place to sleep
- a place for entertainment for me, and any visitors who come over (living room with videogames/tv/music/computer/books)
- a place for grooming and waste disposal (bathroom)
- lighting and a place to store food
- contained in rooms where the walls, floors, and ceilings are in good condition and not sagging, cracked, and filthy
- not infested with pests
- place to do laundry
Then what is possibly missing from the house?
I, no joke here, am giving myself a headache trying to understand what is missing, what is so truly horrible that I'm the only person here who would find it acceptable? Because there is no roommate present in the household? Because I wouldn't have 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and a pool? Please tell me what I'm missing out on here, because I do not understand.
Maybe it's because I was raised from birth near the poverty level, but I just have never seen a home, on tv or otherwise, that had something not listed that I felt I was missing out on?
People keep trying to say that I "would have no friends or companionship or life" but why do they keep saying this? Would be not want to be my friend if my home didn't have large spacious rooms? I don't understand this either?
You're here insulting me because I am happy not being wealthy, and trying to force me to get a roommate, and talking about how miserable you were when you lived in a small place and didn't have much money.

I still live in that place and I still don't have much money. Wanna know what changed? I got a fucking job. I was depressed because I lost my job. I was floating on savings and was literally WEEKS from being evicted. I was depressed because I was a colossal fucking failure and I'm still working to make sure I never end up like that again.
Every single quote you've "interpreted" there is literally assumptions and misinterpretations.
Everything I've said about you, you yourself have said about yourself, dude.

I'm pretty sure that all those interpretations are highly accurate. Assumptions? You want to talk about assumptions, read any post you made past page 1.
And why are you avoiding answering any of my questions? You dodge any question and then respond with strawmen or simply insult me or poop out some more judgement.
Why not answer the question?
What's missing from the house that you seem to believe is so vital to being happy?
Why are you judging and insulting me when the topic is about a house?
How do you reach the conclusion that because I don't want a roommate, and want a smallish place to live, that I'm all of those things you called me?
Everything I've said about you, you yourself have said about yourself, dude.
Now you've gone from judging me to outright lying to my face? Way to go!
what's missing from the list that you seem to believe is so vital to being happy?
Put simply? Peace of mind. Your plans allow for none of it. If something goes wrong, and something will go wrong, you will have absolutely zero way to recover from it.
