Female, But in most games (Or i'll just say a lot) It's not an option and your protagonist is whatever gender the developers wants them to be And i generally avoid games that give all females slut armours, like skyrim. Skyrim doesn't put it's women in glorified metal bikinis, It's legitimate armours

The blows would cause a lot more damage with those curves in metal plating because of how the impact would be absorbed. Skyrim's armor design is retarded, but it's still better than TERA or Scarlet Blade.

Anyway, I'll put it like this: I play male if I get a reasonable choice, in all other cases I play female. Now what I mean is that quite a few games have this very same-y portrayal of a male player character - a buff, muscular, kinda brutish looking and perhaps a little dull witted white alpha male in his thirties (but acts quite juvenille really often) who is the pillar of the society he's in and is probably considered perfect by everyone around him - I can't stand that. I find it really hard to relate to it, since it's very far from what I feel I am in reality, and female characters most often feel more delicate, refined and intellectual, with more of an air of youth around them but with a healthy dash of maturity, which is a lot more acceptable in my books. If I can make a male character that feels like that I'm likely to do it, but if I do a reroll I create a female and don't often look back, it's kinda boring for me to play men, and, if you can't pick between dialogue options, straight up unpleasant. Depends on the game and several other factors. I'll normally always go guy first time, but for some things, like KotOR and other RPGs, gender does matter for dialogue, and I'll play through as both. As for Saint's Row 2, my true aim was to create the most hideous woman possible, with a manly voice. It was glorious.

Male, normally. Unless it's an old-ish hands on fighting game, Tekken for example, then female because they have the best moves by far.
Whoever looks better
I don't care what gender I play. If I have to pick I usually pick at complete random, or depending on the stats or talents of that character.
I like to make characters that are the opposite of me. So normally I play as an attractive female
I'd say it mostly even
Usually Female Or A tall Black man because I wish I was black.
I don't know why, but I prefer characters/races who are either cartoonishly masculine, or monsters. All of my WoW characters on the Horde were either orcs or tauren and my Alliance character was a draenei (yes, a draenei). I also don't mind playing as manly space marines in so many games. Although, I would like to have more characters who are rougher with facial hair and hair bodies rather than clean shaven space marines. I also over-masculate any character that I make, even if it's a magic character or any character where physical capabilities don't affect their usefulness. I know you get free stuff on MMO's by posing as a girl, but I'll just use an alt for that. Also, if character stats and abilities didn't matter, almost all of my Elder Scrolls characters would be orcs. Even in real life, I try to over-masculate my appearance. I've had a beard since I was 15 and I've shaved it twice and regretted it both times. I'm also about to start a gym membership out so I can be muscular in addition to being tall, hairy and having a deep voice. Although, my hands are still girly, but I can't really do anything about that. The few times my wife has played video games, she's made characters that look like psycho bitches, but in kind of a cool way. Also, stop giving women online stuff; even if they are women, that's not going to make them like you, it'll make them want to use you. I'm a guy and I mostly play as a male. Unless there are some noticeable differences in the story for a woman I often don't even replay the game as a female.
