Oops...I forgot to extend the leads coming off of the stator on that motor. Oh well. I doubt I'll be messing with the head wire anymore.
Did you teach yourself to fix the fans you buy? You seem pretty experienced at it.
Did you teach yourself to fix the fans you buy? You seem pretty experienced at it.
He's a doctor, he knows what he's doing!
Did you teach yourself to fix the fans you buy? You seem pretty experienced at it.
he has thousands of years of experience actually

You can easily carry those skills over, but repairing fans really isn't that bad. A lot of it's just common sense...if a wire feels dry and the insulation cracks apart, you should think about replacing it. The most annoying thing to do is completely rewire a fan that has a PSC motor (permanent split capacitor). Although as long as you take note of where the wires all lead to, it's not too bad.
He's a fan doctor, no joke.

When you're taking it apart pay attention where things came from and don't put all the parts together in one big bowl. (we did this with the bolts in my car and it took a while to get it back together)

I do that if I happen to be working on an engine. Or what I'll do is put nuts / bolts / washers / bearings into their original location temporarily while I'm taking care of what actually has to be fixed. That keeps things organized. [editline]28th April 2011[/editline] No babby you cannot use a soldering iron.

Thankfully we got it back together and running better than it had been previously. [editline]28th April 2011[/editline] Plus it was over the course of like a month and a half.
