But when I tried to put the leash on him he just laid down and tried biting at me when I started to pick him up, he had never bit at me before in the 12 years that I had him. Eventually I got the leash on him and managed to get him outside, once outside he acted just like a puppy so full of life and energy. It was like if he knew where we were taking him. My other dog (who was run down by a car last month) was acting crazy like if he knew what was going to happen as well. He gets in the car and the song "Dog Days are Over" was playing on the radio, like if God himself was playing some sick game with me. We finally get to the vet place which was inside of a Petsmart, I walk in with tears running down my face. People are giving me strange glances, I don't care. We finally end up getting a back room. I can't even look at my dog because I know it would make me break down in tears. Then the nurse comes in, asks some questions, take some measurements and she leaves. The doctor comes in soon and brings my dog to his back room where they put an IV into my dog's foot. He looks happy and young all over again. I try petting my dog because I know it's going to be the last time I ever will, but I can't, I leave the room and run to the bathroom to wash my face with some cold water and go to the bathroom due to my nerves. I come back and my dog is still there, I pet him as much as I can. My mom and sister aren't here, they couldn't handle it and stayed at my cousin's house. So it's only my dad, my grandmother, and myself all sitting in this small room crying while petting my dog. After about 20 minutes the doctor comes in, he tries to get my dog to lay down but he's in so much pain my dog just stands there so my dad helps him lay down. Then the doctor injected him, and almost instantly it was like if my dog laid down to sleep. They said it could take minutes. I guess he was just that close to the end that only a little bit of the medicine was needed. Then the doctor said calmly something along the lines of we could spend as much time as we needed in there and when we were done to just walk out and shut off the light. I think that was when I finally broke down in full blown tears. I think I spent about another 15 minutes just petting the body of my dog. Then I realized that was it, so I walked out and drove home. Then I went into my room and just cried for hours. Ugh, sorry for this essay. Still sad though :frown:
