Hey man, my 1995 Star Wars Trilogy re-release tapes still work as well as the day I got 'em, even though I watched each of them every few days for years. Every single VHS tape I own is in perfect shape, it's the VCRs that have always crapped out.

Wasn't complaining, still have the first Toy Story on VHS.
Eh...I wouldn't take VHS over a remastered release of a movie. If you don't want to buy an updated version, that's fine. But quality wise there's no comparison between the two. Digital beats analog in terms of movies.
Music on the other hand is different...I prefer listening to vinyl albums on a high quality setup. That's a completely awesome experience.

I like DVDs because you get good quality plus they're smaller than VHS and you still have the physical copy.
