My 5870 is faster than a 460 and it will stay in the 30-32FPS (average) range with maxed AA @ 1920x1080.

He'd definitely not be averaging that at 1920x1080. I can't quite average 30 even with my card overclocked. (I average about 27.5FPS with my card overclocked.)

You often feel it's running a lot quicker than it might actually be. Also note my other post stating that 1600x900 isn't anything ridiculous. [editline]22nd March 2011[/editline] I remember even back when I had my 8800GT it felt like it was cruising right along with the game maxed out. Then it's like "Oh right it's only sitting at around 18 FPS"

I'm going from my experiences at 1920x1080 with Fraps (or more often Rivatuner Statistics Server) running. I haven't actually tried it max graphics and AA at 1600x900 so it's quite possible I'm wrong. I do know what you're talking about though. I was able to play moderately high level graphics and no AA at 1920x1080 on my old 9800GT and it was only getting about 18-24 FPS but it felt like more.
