Just learned that a dealer who I scored a few gs with was kidnapped, beaten and shot to death inside his car last October. It's weird how the last time I tried buying from him, he sounded very paranoid and said that he was closing shop indefinitely. It was a week before he died, and I was mad at him but now I understand. Hell,they even razed some store that sell christmas attributes. Then,when lunar new year arrived,they become friendly because those money in red envelope. Just a little something that helped me when I'm legitimately feeling like the world is caving in around me: Make some coffee or your favorite beverage, walk onto your porch, and just watch. Don't go back inside until you're done, just stand and watch a whole lot of everything's okay. It helps dial your frame of reference back in and remind you a lot of this stuff is isolated to a really vocal minority and the media. Things are bad, but it's still safe to sleep, eat, and live.

Working at a bike shop I tend to lose hope in humanity too sometimes. You have really great people, and pure assholes. A quick example today was a customer who ordered a bicycle online. The catch is that the specific bike she ordered has three different colors, one which is pink only, with pink and turquoise and at last one which is pink, turquoise and has flower decals on it. At first they ordered one in the wrong wheel size, can happen, then the second time when the first was returned she only said she wanted 'the pink one' while it should've been the pink one with decals, so we sent her a pink one instead of the model she actually wanted. Earlier today she called us and my boss answered, acting all pissy saying 'the stickers were missing'. Then my boss responded with "alright, let's go through the e-mails together" and literally cited "I'm looking for the pink bike instead". She was trying to shove the blame on us, and that we should've warned her that there were multiple colors, which you can clearly see on the website. After we didn't respond as she expected to she swore with cancer and hung up. What really takes the cake here is how so many people start swearing towards you or either the business itself when things don't go as you expected to. (I don't know what's going to happen next anyway, since I'm not handling the online store)

One that stuck out to me was one where he had like this edgy alter-ego start talking to himself about like, hating a show and how it felt good feeling that? People who dismiss it as nostalgia that big-budget games used to be better. It's a completely legit point of view. As with any growing industry, the only people who can make an already successful business more profitable are the sales & marketing people. As bigger companies form bigger development teams, design philosophies & fine detail are easily drowned out. Many great series have their writers & composers replaced by generic ones, as focus is shifted away from the art in favor of the technology.

I think it's safe to say that the time period was amazing.

You're in a "professional" environment, grow the fuck up.

The fucking state of this country. Also the fact that I thought having a full glass of wine, 8 shots of vodka and 1 shot of gin (yeah I know that's weird) last night was a good idea. I got really fucked up for the first time. Not repeating that again.
