honestly it'd be cool if most games were completely cross-platform unless they specifically use something on the console it was made on that can't be transferred (i.e. a lot of DS/3DS games and now Wii U games)

On PS3 it was a big problem porting games from or to PS3 since it has CELL processor, and tasks have to be divided to different SPU's (like, cores), making ports from PC laggy, and ports to PC laggy too. Also companies have to get better at porting games (ie. GTA IV, disaster on PC, or Dark Souls, which was improved later by unoficcial patch iirc).
