For some reason my dog has recently taken to peeing on my floor, from what I've read it's because hardwood floors keep the odor of the urine which makes the dog come back to it, how do I get rid of the odor? and more importantly will that make my dog stop?
pee on him, that will show him who is the boss.
Not sure if it was for dogs or cats, but one way is to clean it up with a paper towel, leave the towel where you want them to piss (Outside, or on the neighbour's doormat, your choice), and they should be attracted back to there next time

Where does it pee? Is it a place it is not allowed to go? We used to close our bedroom door and our dog peed there when the door was open. Or have you made some chances of way of your habits or something lately? Or is it male or female? Is there some bitch walking around in your neighborhood?

Use this stuff called "Urine Destroyer," you find it at PetCo or PetSmart. It breaks up the enzymes which leave the smell. Obviously clean up the piss with a dry towel, soap and water, and a sanitizer wipe as well. Make sure to follow up each accident by being assertive with the dog/puppy by verbally disciplining them and having them stay outside for some time.
Problem should solve itself eventually.
Don't forget to use the urine destoyer on areas he has already peed!
Does he have a dog house or a place where he sleeps? If yes pee on it. That will show him.

Really though, try it, not to rough, but make sure you let him know you are angry.
If its a small dog, castrate it, same goes for cats.

That's what I did and he stopped peeing on the carpets in no time.
I heard that a good method is to rub his face into the pee.

Tape its dick to its belly and next time it pisses in the house, it just pisses all over its self
