Way back, almost ten years ago, little 'ol me got THIS close to unlocking the cannon in Super Mario 64.
I had all the red coin stars, all the normal stars and just one last normal coin star to collect.
It was the coin star in that freaking clock tower level. In all my life, I've only ever gotten it to appear once.
That one time, little ten year old me under shot the jump to the platform it appears on, as I was too afraid of over shooting it. I was never able to make it appear again, now our N64 doesn't work and to this day I've never really 'beaten' Super Mario 64.
