I lose mine before I was 18, like 3 weeks before I was 18. No rush, it feels good but trust me, it's nothing to rush in to.

This isn't so bad. I was making a minecart down to my cave for easy exploration and item retrieval, and when I tried to ride it back up I somehow ended up wedged in a piece of gravel. I dug through it to free myself and fell into the lava square directly below it, one of the only ones I haven't solidified yet. I couldn't get out, and I desperately threw my diamond pickaxe out in an effort to save something, since my mind went numb from the panic situation and I only managed to save that. I lost 45 iron blocks, which was all the iron I had saved up during the entire playthrough, one complete set of diamond tools minus the pickaxe I saved, four minecarts and 81 track pieces. I had spare diamonds from storing them in my safehouse, and made a second set of tools with them, and rushed back down the mine to recover my pickaxe. It had disintegrated in the time it took for me to get back down there. At that point I said "fuck it", and used INVedit to give myself some iron and wood to complete the minetrack. I later zipped up the save and started a new one, I hate myself for using that program.
You'll be able to recover the shit you lost if it wasn't that much.
