In study hall, I sit with two of my friends, and by a new girl that doesn't have many friends. My friends and I talk every day, but today we were all getting especially annoying; I could tell. I looked over at the girl, and could tell she was having trouble reading because of our talking. I quited down and hushed my friends several times, so we wouldn't get in trouble, and out of courtesy.
In my next period, I have the girl again. We went to the back of the room, and had to get our science journals. I had been waiting in line, and when I finally got to the front the only other person behind me was the girl. I reached down, got mine, then found hers and gave it to her, and said, "I'm sorry for being so obnoxious last period. I'm not usually like that." And she said, "You don't seem like you're usually like that. You seem like a really nice, thoughtful guy."
