The meaning of life is whatever you decide it to be, as life itself is inherently meaningless.
but haven't you spent your life attempting to achieve those things
but haven't you spent your life attempting to achieve those things
That is irrelevant. The meaning of life is not like DNA or chemical reactions, it does not exist in nature. Like all ideas, it is something we humans fabricate. Nothing particularly wrong with that, but you will not find an objectively correct, final meaning to life.

i define the meaning of life as something you unconsciously strive for
i define the meaning of life as something you unconsciously strive for
Then it would seem out definitions differ.

indeed :golfclap:
The meaning of life does not exist because meaning does not exist.

if meaning does not exist then what is your sentence attempting to convey
Sentience is an illusion. Human bodies are just big computers. Data goes in, brain interprets, outputs movement. It's not attempting to convey anything.

it's the interpretation process that i find interesting
what goes on in there, how does the brain handle information, and how does existence tie to that
an alaskan flounder flounder basket sounds delish
If you could model the precise physical state of the brain you could predict how it would respond to any stimuli.

could we? it's something i'd like to see before i jump to conclusions like that
could we? it's something i'd like to see before i jump to conclusions like that
We'll never get enough computing power within out life times but why not. Either the brain is supernatural and is controlled by something amounting to ghosts or it's entirely natural and can be described perfectly with physical laws.
Or there's the third option...
Or there's the third option...
Being?
I dunno, it's probably beyond Human comprehension, but it's always nice to have a third option.
I dunno, it's probably beyond Human comprehension, but it's always nice to have a third option.
If "all things we observe are natural," is false, then "Some things we observe are not natural," must be true and vice verse. There's no room for a middle ground.
It's always nice to have a third option.
Wouldn't it be?
We could be living in a dream. We're could be not even real. Just the imaginings of some interdimensional cosmic horror whose asleep at the bottom of some ocean.
Or something like that.
What would that fall under?
That would fall under one of the two categories except we'd be living in a projection. Our world would be subject to the laws that guide the cosmic horror's mind. (or lack of laws if the other option is true)
I really doubt Australians sound like that

What would that fall under?
That would fall under the second option.

if that's the case we better hope like hell he doesn't wake up any time soon
I've eaten about a pound of raisins in the last 10 minutes.
Wonder what this will do to my digestive system.
Found a project where Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines is being converted to the Orange Box engine. They've been at it for a year or two now and seem to have restarted once. They have somethings done but yeah, they seem to have short attention spans...

Downloaded their tool kit and right now it's doing something. Copying files over to Steam or something.

It seems they've created an SDK of their own for the original game. Neat.
