- (Minecraft) Creeper + Skeleton/Spider (Running away from Skeleton's arrows/Spider's leaps only to bump into a Creeper)
- (Half-Life 1/2) Fast headcrab + Poison headcrab (Poison heady weakens you, then a fast heady launches at you. Or, that horde of general headies jumping at you from all around.)
- (Fallen Earth) Coyotes + Other hostile wildlife
- (Red Dead Redemption) Grizzly + Wolf/Fox/Cougar (Maybe you're hunting, maybe you're getting attacked by a group of wolves/fox/cougars, and then comes the Grizzly. While you're occupied with the pack of assholes, the Grizzly moves in for the kill and annihilates you and everything else in the area.)
- (Any game ever) That one character who you had to babysit or escort, and then it turns out later on that they're actually an enemy. You get betrayed.
- (Mass Effect 1/2) Krogan + Geth (While you're occupied by Geth attacks, a Krogan moves in for a full frontal assault and knocks you on your ass when you least expect it.)
