I prefer Left 4 Dead 3 as the first source 2 game.
Maybe you played it as a safe cover-based shooter but when I got to use the skyhook I used it extensively for hookline to ground kills. My character build was focused on melee as well.
Bioshock Infinite actually had pretty good gunplay and combat, it's just a shame that so many people played it like Call of Duty.
I guess I did sorta play it as a cbs and I do like Call of Duty, however, you can't really judge people on that. I love and play so many games, it makes little to no difference that I like CoD. Also, I was more focusing on the leaping off the rails parts that are gimmicky, from my perspective the hook seemed like 'a slightly more interesting than your average melee weapon, melee weapon'
I dunno, whatever floats your boat (or goat). It's all subjective.
I love how people are rating this funny.
When it comes to gameplay you're 100% right. If Half Life 3 ever comes out, the gunplay's gonna be the same as it was in 2, ep1, and ep2. And say what you will about B:I's combat, but its miles ahead of Half Life 2's. HL2's combat is boring as hell, its serviceable at best. The only fun part of it was the gravity gun which was honestly mostly gimmick.
Well I think that the combat is really good, although the bullet sponge enemies on higher difficulties are so annoying.

i find bullet sponge enemies challenging and i think they are way better than ai tactics because those are annoying

What do you mean ? You actually prefer dumb moving target to smart, worthwhile opponents ?!
Age of Empires 3 is the best in the series.
What do you mean ? You actually prefer dumb moving target to smart, worthwhile opponents ?!
yea because games like dark souls tend to ruin my controllers, so i'd rather battle against sponge men instead of buying a new controller

Are you serious? You prefer having enemies with a ridiculous amount of health instead of enemies that use actual tactics and the enviroment to effectively fight you?

Really, really obvious sarcasm, dude.

Sarcasm usually has a point you're trying to make but I can't see a point in his post.
I don't think the Sonic Adventure games are very good.
I remember seeing a Sonic megathread in General Games Discussion, and the OP listed Sonic Adventure 2 as one of the best Sonic games instead of Sonic CD. I just don't get it.

Oh god, yes. I played both Adventure games so much when I was younger, and recently went back to play them and they were dreadful.
I don't think Bioshock Infinite was such a good game after all.
Albeit cheesy and a bit annoying at times, FFXIII was a fun, lighthearted game with pleasant graphics. People just compare it to other FF games too aggressively (although can't say I've ever played any of them.)
We are long overdue for a modern reboot of One Must Fall 2097

Bioshock: Infinite was a game that had disgraceful mouse-movement causing the gunplay to be terrible aswell.
Also the most impressive part of the game was the beginning when you're walking through Columbia and not getting shot to shit.
I really liked Brink and Mass Effect 3.
I think Majora's Mask and Wind Waker were better than Ocarina of time.
games should not put a level cap on things that you can buy, ala Blacklight: Retribution. it basically devolves into "in order to play the way you like to play, you have to play the way you don't like to play for x amount of time. Have fun playing you're not-preferred way!"
Fallout 3 Isn't A real Fallout Game
Fallout 3 Isn't A real Fallout Game
I'll say this to Fallout 3, while it may not be a great fallout game to the originals, I'd still say it's a good game compared to other rpgs. If you put a lot of hours into it, then that's all it needs for an rpg to be good.
World at War is the best Call of duty game hands down.
All the VALVe love, I'll never understand it. As far as games the last original game they released was like 2007. They focus all their resources on milking a couple specific titles and have completely shat the bed with Half-Life 3 (I was hype as shit for this game, for the first decade.) Beyond that the only reason I could see why anyone likes them is because Gabe's a friendly lookin fat dude and Steam sales. Neither of which justify what they are compared to what they were, in my opinion.

They've really haven't been doing anything big lately. Just a bunch of minor games it seems.
Maybe all this time they've been working on one big game to shatter everyone's standards once more. That screenshot with Source 2 and Left 4 Dead 3 changes is a big indicator of that.
Only time will tell.
Fable 3 isn't terrible :v:
It really isn't, it's just simplified/dumbed down like hell compared to the older games - but it looks great, the side quests were great and often really funny. I enjoyed my playthrough from start to end.

And this comes from someone who absolutely loves the first Fable and disliked Fable 2 at first.
Dead Space 3 was a damn fine game.
I still think 2 is the best, but 3's not bad by any stretch, its just different. I can see why people don't like it, but I enjoyed it.
I kinda enjoyed SimCity Societies. It was crap, easy, very different from the other SimCity games, cheap, etc but I had some fun before it became too repetitive.
The Huntsman is a very fun weapon that doesn't deserve the amount of hate it gets.
I'm gonna get a lot of flak for making this remark, but looking at HL3, the only way Valve can actually satisfy the expectations of their fans is if the US government funded the game, and that the game was co-developed by Swedish university students and Japanese scientists. Also, the soundtrack would have to make Super Smash Bros Brawl's OST look like a grade school project.
Otherwise, Half-Life 3 will be the next DNF.
